I've always said the true racists are those who think black people need free college, quotas, allow the race card to be played, allow for black only organizations to be formed, etc. Time we start treating everyone equal and stop giving minorities special privileges because their color of skin is not white.

As he states, call it(them) what you will, but the ideology is the same, the methods are the same, etc....a rose by any other name is still a rose.

This is all nonsense. I'm tired of hearing conservatives say that liberals want blacks dependent on the government. Real liberals like Hubert Humphrey wanted no transfer payment welfare state to exist...a government that provides full employment because a pure capitalistic system does not. If you had a real full employment program there would be no need for these hodge podge of welfare programs that have been compromised through out the years.

It is the Business Community who is happy to put up with these welfare programs we have because businesses and shareholders and board members and managers do not want a full employment economy because it puts upward pressure on wages and eliminates the surplus army of potential employees from which they now can freely chose from at their hearts content. It is conservatives afraid of "big government" who won't support a full employment program that makes everyone have to earn a living.

I listened to Triv today say "Republicans want you to go get a job" and yet our economy doesn't provide a job for everyone willing and able to work and Republicans don't support a program that would!

And additionally, it's a total cop out for conservatives...who fought tooth and nail against civil rights to just say, after centuries of oppression..."Oh yeah, it's cool dawg you're right...colorless society sounds good now that we can't use your color to oppress you."

For that matter, there is not a single member of the progressive caucus who has proposed a top marginal tax rate higher than those during the majority of Ronald Reagan's term. It is interesting you write about the unemployment rate before 2008, gosh a ruddies, you know there was this recession think caused by the Republicans that put us in a big hole that we are trying ourselves out of, just like in 1929. Back then the unemployment rate was 3% before the Republicans pushed us into the giant hole that took us years to get out of.

Your point would be valid if the Republicans brought out legislation that literally mentioned bringing down minorities in the title of the bill or there was video footage of minorities being turned down for membership of the Republican party but neither of those two things exist as far as I know.
