I don't really know what you want the answer to be. Should they let minors and teachers hookup because juniors and seniors date and sometimes the seniors get a "job" at the school when they graduate?

...yes, or not be approved/accepted as a volunteer coach.

The teen-ager told police the incident occurred in Crafton's vehicle while the two were in the parking lot of a Shelbyville grocery store, the document states.

Ah, Shelbyville. The sister-loving sister city of Springfield from the Simpsons. Any of that going on in this case? Like one of the guys on the basketball team being her brother, so that's what led to this whole thing being ruined for the rest of the male population of that school.

If you're 17 and she's blowing you, do you care? If you say yes then you've just outed yourself.

When I was 17 I did much worse. Like I said I'd hit

These people should certainly lose their jobs, but I don't know if the student is of legal age to consent that the acts should be criminal. Not sure I buy the "position of power" argument, but probably something to exploiting a position of trust into seduction.

Just seems to me when I was 16 and 17, me and my friends knew the score. I don't feel like we needed criminal punishment to protect us from this.

I wiki'd it.
"If a person who is at least 18 years of age; and is the guardian, adoptive parent, adoptive grandparent, custodian, or stepparent of; or child care worker for; or a military recruiter who is attempting to enlist; a child at least 16 years of age but less than 18 years of age; engages with the child in sexual intercourse or any fondling or touching with the intent to arouse or satisfy the sexual desires of either the child or the adult, the person commits child seduction, a Class D felony."
So is she considered a child care worker for the guy? That's the only way I really see it applying. Unless wiki didn't include the entire law.

Either way it's dumb. If the age of consent is 16 (which it is in Indiana), then it should be 16.

It's illegal, so I get it, but the age distinction here is silly. He's old enough to be a senior in high school, and she's still young enough to be in college.

So how do you propose they tweal the laws? Add an age gap amendment?

Laws are dumb. People should be allowed to do what they want. Or, at least what the OC posters think is allowable.

That's exactly what I think needs to happen.

Agree with age gap, but it was not age law here, it was "student-supervisor" relationship law.

I agree. If I want to kill a dog for not being on a leash I should be able to.
