And the purists of baseball need to get their head out of their asses and change the way it is scored. There is no logical explanation as to why the catcher can't "block" this throw to keep a runner from advancing.

I didnt see this play but I know waht you are talking about. I dont think there needs to be a change to how those plays are scored. Give the guy the error for not throwing the ball so it is caught without it being in the dirt.
I know as a coach I have chewed out some players for not blocking a throw in the dirt. There is a time and place to just knock it down, and to when to try and make the catch and tag. .
