This isn't the 1930's. I want to see the best hitters available hitting.

You got your slugging DH up in the 9th with the bases loaded in a tie game... There's no strategy in how the other team approaches that?

Let's say you have the pitcher up int he same scenario, instead you send a PH batting .210 to the plate. Exciting.
I'm not saying that there isn't strategy involved when there's a DH. I'm saying there's more strategy involved when the pitcher is forced to hit.

Like right now...walking the #8 batter to get to the pitcher. I would say that's a strategic move by the Indians. Would you disagree with that?

lol, yeah... One series proves everything. Interleague records? All star record over the last 15 years?

Sure. But its stupid strategy. I mean, of course they are going to, cause the pitchers suck at hitting. I would rather see the #8 hitter get pitched to than the pitcher. In other words, its strategy because its forced strategy. It is something a 5 year old could do. Walk the 8 hitter to get to the pitcher.

It was only a part of the equation, but I doubt one league would like to be the whipping boy for so long.

Maybe that's why pitchers suck so bad at hitting when they are in the majors. If we do away with the DH rule in Little League, HS, and college...more pitchers would be able to hit in the majors.

Now we can.

Cueto definitely settling in after that first inning.

Gomez gets a hit.

Pitchers are 2/4 right now. Cleanup hitters are 0/4.

Suck it DHs.

The two improvements that would improve the MLB product are Eliminate the DH and call balls and strikes intentionally. Scoring will go up because there are a lot of hitters that have an excellent eye that is way undervalued because of the poor balls and strike calls which makes their great skill reduced to chance value. Then the pitcher, instead of legitimately working the hitter, and navigating the line-up from inning to inning, spends most of his intelligence and skill on trying to see where the ump gives him strikes he doesn't deserve and exploiting the hitters, especially those who have the keen batting eyes who should be the really valuable players. That is the crux of the game to have the pitchers and hitters have a fair confrontation!

Sliding to the outside of the base paid dividends for Heisey on the SB.

BP doesn't ground into a double play! My feet feel cold underneath me. Possible that hell has frozen over?

And Bruce gets the run in. Didn't think he got it deep enough, but it does the job.

Right! He is still out though if he doesn't use his head and slides into the middle of the base.

Right on! As little guys, who were your best hitters? The guys who could pitch. Then the DH took all that away.

If Gomez gets out of this game only giving up 2 runs, it will be a minor miracle. He blows.

Great pitch selection on the first to Ludwick and he's behind the 8-ball.

They almost never take BP either. Step in the box and give it a go atleast. Ive watched guys like Wainwright not even try in his AB's
