I think the WP he threw was a changeup that scored the run. Thing the gun said 89 and it didnt break or anything like that.
Early on he was dumping that slider in there and it was just plain unfair to the hitter. It was so nasty that the hitter virtually had no chance to make contact. He went through a few outings in row where he didnt even attempt one, and the old saying "use it or lose it" def comes into play. He was making guys look bad even just throwing FB's, but at that time they had a small doubt in their mind what was coming. Now there is no doubt. Also, they interviewed Tom Browning the other day and he made the point that he wasnt getting ahead and throwing as many strikes the other night, and any big league hitter who sees a few extra pitches will be able to time up any fastball. When he was on he was getting strike one on the first pitch often, and retiring the inning with 3-4 pitches to a hitter.
I agree that he doesnt seem as comfortable coming in with guys on base. I like him as a closer better than a setup guy, but still want him in the rotation.
