They need both.

They can probably get some pen help for cheap, which would be awesome. Cause these guys BLOW. If we dont have a lead, we cant win. We turn close games into blowouts because our pen cant hold a 1 or 2 run deficet. Its getting to the point, we gotta use Smith and Pestano when we are losing for fucks sake.

It's just not that talented of a team. They are an average team at best in a weak division. Expecting them to play like a playoff caliber team week in and week out is simpy dillusional.

Yeah, I agree with this. They have a bunch of middle of the pack guys for starting pitchers and mostly average players everywhere in the field...except for maybe Kipnis.

I think you'd have to add Druby to the list of better than average players.

Meanwhile, Brandon Phillips continues to make the Tribe pay for Eric Wedge's ego. Brantley marches on. LaPorta is sent back to Columbus(way to get a good look at him, Manny)....and the bullpen fails again to keep the game close.

It is ok to get swept in a meaningless series in the middle of June, but to not be competitive with a team like the reds is pretty sad.

plenty more of this to come....I am afraid

Agreed. I think this is where the serious downward slide happens for the Tribe.

"A team like the Reds"?

I am not saying that the Reds are a World Series contender, but they are 30-19 since mid April and in first place. They have what a lot of baseball people have said is the best defense, best bullpen, and best player in the game in Votto. It's not like the Indians are about to get swept by the Cubs.

I know. If he would have, we would have realized that we were dealing with someone that doesn't know anything about baseball.

The win today ties us w the Yankees for best record in baseball since they started 4-8.

Got them where we want them. Perfect set up to sweep at home and split the season series.

Should be an interesting series coming up. Tribe needs to take at least two of three to avoid falling back of Sox.Lets see if beanballs will be flying.
