I don't disagree. I could be wrong, but I think he turned into a douche soon before he stopped posting. I remember him being ok over at the other site and when we all first came over here...
I recall that as well. Started QQing, because people gave him a hard time for being a michigan/lakers fan.

I feel like a lot of it comes down to keeping the inside joking and constant mocking of members and especially of new members to a relative minimum. No person with an adult outlook is going to completely abandon the place because someone said one joke about a typo or whatever, but we sort of tend to hijack that sort of thing into "make fun of the op/whatever" threads which doesn't help.

Restraint is important here like in pretty much everything else.
