You should get some cash in that deal.

That'd normally be a good joke if ND's schedule wasn't loaded. But in all actuality, I'll probably go to the Nebraska game and sell all my others-- hopefully my Michigan ticket pays off the entire 132 I paid. Also going to the ND-UM night game, ND @ MSU night game, and ND-Miami at Soldier field. Not a bad lineup, especially if I end up just going to The Game instead of selling the ticket

Stoneburner and Mewhort off scholarship for summer quarter... Pretty intense, Urban isn't messing around.

http://m.espn.go.com/ncf/story?storyId=8059261

Ohio State tight end Jake Stoneburner and offensive tackle Jack Mewhort have been removed from their athletic scholarships, although both seniors can work their way back on scholarship and to the team after the summer.

Coach Urban Meyer announced the move Friday after both Stoneburner and Mewhort settled their court cases stemming from a June 2 incident. Both players had been charged with obstructing official business after police in Delaware, Ohio, said they were urinating on a building and fled when confronted by officers. They pleaded guilty Friday to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct.

"We are disappointed with the decisions made recently by two of our football players," Meyer said in a prepared statement. "Jake Stoneburner and Jack Mewhort will each be removed from athletic scholarship beginning with the summer term, and they will continue to be suspended from team activities until stipulations are successfully met. They will have an opportunity to return to the team in good standing following the summer session."

Stoneburner and Mewhort are enrolled in summer classes and will pay their own way during the term. They can work out at the team's facility but not with their fellow teammates during the summer.

Both Stoneburner and Mewhort started last season and are projected as starters for the 2012 season.

Running from police is minor? We had some morons in the program running amok with no real consequences for their actions. When you get a new coach he has to flex his muscles a little and show he isn't messing around

P.S. I'd argue having a little weed is far more 'minor' than running from authorities

Both are misdemeanors, so both are minor.

Stoneburner is a terrible ambassador for Ohio State. Needs to be kicked off the team for good and sent to the SEC where they tolerate morons.

You realize it's not like they ran for miles. They took off. Then the cops yelled police and they stopped. They didn't run all over town getting chased.

Good. This is Ohio State. We demand the highest ethics and expect championships. Don't like it? Go somewhere else.

Running for 2 seconds is running all over town in Shawnee Hills.

I do read conflicting reports on how much they ran. I read where they ran and were found crouching behind cars. Others say they ran and then stopped.

I read that one was hiding in some woods and came out when the K9 dog was there. Its not way over the top. What are they missing during summer? They will be back for fall camp, no big deal.

Wasn't too long ago I was reading here about how Meyer was the one letting inmates run the asylum. Oh, that was different, not at OSU. Now he is too harsh.

I'm going to respectfully disagree....having weed on you is an indication you KNOW you're doing something illegal. If these guys were just peeing (I don't know the facts and haven't read everything on this thread, so I could be incorrect about what they actually did) then the keystone cops shouldn't have done more than just yell at them to stop. They have guns, citizens (usually) don't, and we've seen some serious breaches of authority in the last few years.
