I'm not too crazy about the deal. Dubinsky is an ok young talent - top or 2nd line material eventually, Anisimov is an ok young talent - 2nd line material, Erixon is a prospect, plus a #1. No legitimate 1st line talent.

I will say I like building 3 good/very good lines instead of one great one and two mediocre ones. But still ... I don't see enough coming back in the deal. \Howson'd

It's a fair deal as Nash is severely overrated.

Lines for next year:

Dubinsky-Brassard-Atkinson
Umberger-Anisimov-Johansen
Folgino-Letestu-Prospal
Boll-MacKenzie-Dorsett
Gillies

JMFJ-Wiz
Tyutin-Nikitin
Murray-Erixon
Moore

As a Rangers fan, let me tell you that you are getting a good one in Dubinsky. But, when I heard about a deal sending Nash to the Rangers, and I read the story and DIDN'T see Chris Kreider's name included, I started doing virtual backflips. Not saying the Rangers won the deal, but I think Columbus could have held out for a lot more.

Nash isn't worth Kreider, plain and simple.

On the plus side, Columbus will have 3 1st-rounders in next year's draft (considered to be a very deep draft)

And one of those will be a lottery pick.

Disagree completely. That "C" on Nash's sweater weighed a thousand pounds to him. Get him somewhere where he isn't expected to be the franchise, he'll be what he is, an excellent hockey player. I'd entertain a wager where I say he'll record at least 75 points next season.

Most likely the 2nd pick after Edmonton gets #4 in a row.

Please. First of all he never deserved to be captain and weighed him down? He's overrated plain and simple.

Jones or MacKinnon lol.

If the CBJ can get a #1 goalie, they're not going to be that bad.

He'll be in the top 20 in the league in scoring next season. That would make your overrated comment 100% wrong.

He's in NYC, you really believe this comment? Dude is real good player and someone I would've wanted on my team. Definitely would've been ok with the Bruins getting rid of Krejci and tim thomas for him. But seriously, he played in bum fuck as far as the media is concerned. Wait until he has to deal with NYC media, we'll see how much that weighs on him.

I'll make a bet he doesn't put up 75 points.

Having high expectations as one of the better players on a good team, even in New York, is a different kind of pressure than being the only hope in a hopeless situation.

Care to suggest terms, or I can come up with something?

I'd rather be the only guy in columbus than the guy coming in with a mountain of expectations. No money, what did you have in mind?

The typical wager here seems to be an avatar bet. Say from the end of the regular season through the Stanley Cup playoffs?

How about, from the end of NHL season to the beginning of the next one. Will be rocking a Pens Avy in that time period.

If you build two complete teams out of all NHL players (40 players exactly), you're saying that Nash isn't on one of the teams? Not sure what the guy did to hurt your feelings, but it made you lose any sense of objectivity. The only worse evaluation I've seen is someone seriously suggesting that Gretzky isn't in the top-10 all time.

If we include a list of Forawrds/Defenseman/Goalies, I wouldn't put him on that list. Yes, he wouldn't be on that list. Here, I'm going to make a list of two teams of the best 40 players in the league.

Team A:

Kovalchuk-Crosby-Stamkos
D. Sedin-Datsyuk-Hossa
Kopitar-Backstrom-Tavares
P. Kane-Thornton-Getzlaf

Karlsson-Weber
Suter-Letang
Keith-Boyle

Lundqvist
Rinne
Price

Team B:

Ovechkin-Malkin-Neal
H. Sedin-Toews-Giroux
Perry-Spezza-St. Louis
Zetterberg-Bergeron-Parise

Chara-Pietrangelo
Yandle-Doughty
Edler-Seabrook

Quick
Loungo
Miller

Don't see Nash anywhere. I have nothing against him personally, I just find him to be overrated and not worth the hype and that contract.
