I've seen the infomercial lately, and wondered if any OCer had done this 60 day workout?

If insanity is a lot like p90X plyo, then I will never do Insanity.

I'm almost done with p90x (3 weeks), and if there is one thing I've learned... DIET. Working out doesn't do shit if you don't diet well. I'm not happy at all with my physical (read weight-loss) results from P90x, and it's all b/c of diet. I don't have a poor diet, but I don't have a great diet. Strength wise, I'm happy. Gut wise? not at all.

Never did the complete Insanity workout alone but did 3 Insanity/P90X hybrids. Insanity's a bitch.

Well, judging by your 40+ beer weekend, I would say that your diet was probably pretty poor. A light beer is like 9 carbs. That would be at least 360 carbs over the weekend. That's almost a week of carbs for me.

lots of carbs = no weight loss. I do like 75 carbs per day, all from fruits and veggies. The type of carbs you get from beer (and the amount) will make you fat like no other.

Keto is the new "low carb". Mine would probably be called "very few grains"

Interesting, I'm a huge bread eater. Bread/goldfish are my go to snack.

And this should pretty much ensure your success, if you stick to it. That P90X diet book that comes with it recommends a shit ton of carbs. You're busting your ass in that program but even with the calories burned I think the carbs are WAY too high.

I'm usually in keto 24/7. I try to keep my carbs well below 50g's daily. It's ALL about insulin sensitivity with me. Some people (usually elite, world class athletes) can get away with ridiculous amounts of carbs but I realized that was not me well over a year ago.

It's not about carbs, its about the type of carbs you consume imo. I stick to 6 small meals a day, and i still eat carbs. Oatmeal and kashi cereal has a shit ton of carbs, but it's not as bad as you as say carbs from skittles, or beer as you point out.

It's more about ratios. If you are a bigger body mass kind of person that is super active, you can have more carbs and be fine, especially based off of your daily caloric intake.

white pasta, pizza sauce and crust

Those are my 2 biggest cravings from watching my carbs, but also probably some of the absolute worst to eat.

And you are right about the type. I typically try to get wild rice with dinner every night (about 1/2 cup cooked) and a few other things here and there. My wife weighs around 105, but because she is so active (on her feet 12 hours per day, runs and does p90x) she can have like 150 good carbs per day and struggle to maintain her weight.

I'm waiting on the diet plan that allows me to drink 10-15 beers per weekend evening.

I'd rather be able to have a large pizza and wings once per weekend.

make yourself do shots of vodka. BOOM wasted

Why not actually just try good beers, so you don't drink 10-15 per weekend? I also find not drunk eating helps, or if you must drunk eat, try some fruit, or unsalted roasted peanuts.

Drunk people are known for their rational thinking. I'm sure he'll remember to eat a salad when he's plastered.
