I'm surprised no one has started a thread on this(maybe awaiting approval by LJ in politics forum).

Anyway, appreciate the work that those who defend this country do for the pansies like me who earn money by typing on a computer.

Enjoy!

All gave some, some gave all. Today is about those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is appreciated.

I don't think those of us who never went through fighting in a war could ever imagine how these guys do it. I think of how absolutely paralyzed by fear I would be knowing there is someone out there whose only mission that day is to kill me. I am constantly amazed by the courage and bravery these men show on a daily basis. Thank you.

My father was in the Second Infantry Division in Korea, his job was to patrol the 38th Parallel every night knowing at anytime from the dark a bullet could come screaming his way and I would never be here. Thank you Dad.

I love Billy Ray Cryus. I'm listening to Achy Breaky Heart as I type this.

The Coming Home show Billy Ray did was some awesome television. I don't think I ever watched an entire episode with dry eyes.

Dont know what is more suprising.........it took until close to 5pm before someone posted something...or that it was sleeper who did so.

I presume most people were just not on the OC to even post about it.

When did Memorial Day become Veterans Day? I am thankful for our veterans, and we have a holiday for them in November, but Memorial Day was intended for those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

I agree completely. I was wondering the same thing this weekend.

Good point. We should only thank veterans on Veterans Day. Everyone disregard this thread.

That sleeper fail was the first thing I noticed, though I decided not to troll it...even tho sleeper deserved it.

Al Bundy is right.

SVF: I did and thought the same.

At the ceremony/observance I attended/participated in, we made it a point to clarify this. We used to ask all those who had served to stand and be recognized. This year we asked if anyone who had lost a relative to stand.

There certainly is a difference, but one, it seems, very few seem to highlight.
