Going to the outer banks in 2 weeks any suggestions on places to eat? Attractions to see? I'll be staying in corolla, so we're not far from the beach.

McDonalds is usually pretty descent! On a serious note, Captain George's in Nags Head is excellent!

Hit the sand dunes "Jockey Ridge" (not far from Corolla), thats pretty cool. http://www.jockeysridgestatepark.com/

If you are an Ohioan, maybe even if you are not, take 1/2 hour or so and check out the little Wright Brothers Museum. If you have kites, you might consider bringing them as they didn't pick this place to fly by accident. There was a cafeteria there that had like 3 letters-LMC-MCL-something like that that was good and cheap for breakfast. We also fished for free near a dock. Caution-this was 10 years ago.

Thanks! We were looking for a good seafood buffet and read reviews on some and people said they were bad but capt George's everyone on the reviews seemed to like it, so I'll definitely have to check it out. As for the drinking, that's a pretty much given ;)

Make sure you get an OBX sticker for your car, so everyone knows where you've been

blue point in duck is nice for a more expensive dinner option. food is good and it sits right on the sound, especially scenic at sunset. in corolla, oceanfront grille has good crab cakes, but again pretty expensive. if i was only doing one expensive dinner, it would be blue point. for less expensive options, corolla village barbecue is really good -- it's basically just a shack and they close pretty early (i think around 5), but the food is great, corolla pizza is a decent pie and they deliver, lighthouse bagels is a good place to pick up breakfast. i've never done steamer's shellfish to go, but i know it's popular.

carova is the place to go if you want to track down the wild horses, it's north of coralla. you need a 4x4 vehicle, or there are tours you can take. even if you don't do the tour, it's a good idea to keep an eye on them because they're good at tracking the horses. while you're there, you should check out penny's hill. it's a huge sand dune, very cool. the whalehead club in corolla is a good place to see sunsets over the sound. also nearby is the currituck beach lighthouse. it's a bit of a climb to the top, but it gives you 360 degree views. there's an admission fee, but i think it's somewhere around 5 bucks.

harris teeter is the nicest grocery store. there's also a food lion, but it could use an update. beer is pretty cheap in nc, fortunately. i think the last time i was there cases of yuengling were on sale for $13.49. i haven't been to many bars in the area, but sundogs was decent, and depending on where your house is, it might be within walking distance.

have a good time! i hope the water isn't too cold.

Went a few years ago and stayed on Corova Beach, it was miserable. Driving down the beach and seeing the horses was cool, one time. There isn't much in Corolla to be honest.
