For the first time in her professional career my wife will now have summers off. Bonus for me, she says she will cook me breakfast in the morning and pack my lunches so I actually take lunch and stop getting fast food. Who has their summers off, either as a professional or student? If you've been doing it for a while, what do you do to occupy your time? She plans on volunteering at least one day a week and going to the pool a lot. And making babies. Hopefully with me.

I do not have summers off, however if I play my cards wrong I may have this summer off.

Neither. She works in the college counseling office at a private high school. She is going back to get her Masters next fall, though. But she'll be doing that while she's working.

Normally, I'd work my balls off during the summer, but I am currently unemployed because I refuse to go back to my college job for the summer(or at least i haven't decided to go back yet).
I am coaching a 14U baseball team so I do have something to do until I get a a job.
I just graduated with a Bachelors in mathematics and teaching. So basically, I'm getting a job that gives me summers, winters, and spring breaks off because I'm a lazy future public employee.

Technically, I do have summers "off." But I didn't answer it that way.

I am a student -- working on my MBA. But, I also coach. School is out in the middle of June. Class is out right now for undergrads. I have camps all summer long instead of having them "off." I may have 3 weeks of the summer where I don't have camps. But those 3 weeks are at the beginning of June and July where either school is still in session or just out for high schoolers and then Independence Day thrown in there too.

Summers are actually more busy for me, it seems.

I can't imagine having summers off, I go stir crazy on a Saturday morning if I don't have anything to do. I'd go broke, because I'm not good at just staying home and taking it easy.

I think I would get bored. I recently started having most weekends off. I worked saturdays for 15 years and I have found myself getting "bored" with the extra time off on weekends. It is getting better tho..finding stuff to do, but at first I would get all my stuff I wanted to get done and it was saturday afternoon.


She will probably sign up on Ashley Madison site to meet some new people

My dad was a teacher and retired after 35 years. He had always said that he worked MORE during the summers than he did at school, and was always ready to go back to school and get back into a routine.

For the people who say it would be boring. It is.

I coach, coach camps, work out, play softball, drink heavily, anything to keep me entertained. The hardest part is if I don't do anything during the day, I can't sleep at night.
