Again with the irrelevant talk?? Isn't it kind of odd that someone like yourself would spend so much time talking about something as "irrelevant" as Notre Dame? Why would the Big Ten even consider inviting Notre Dame after they declined ten years ago if they are so irrelevant. The Big Ten is looking at expansion for one reason, to make money. Notre Dame = $$$$ because to quite a few people they do have an important place in college football.sleeper wrote: What tradition and identity is ND trying to preserve? The fact that year in year out they are overrated by their fans and the media only to have a mediocre at best season and be placed in a bowl game they don't deserve only to get BLOWN out and have their fans go on and on about how good they will be next year blah blah blah? The only thing ND is preserving is their arrogance and stupidity, especially when NBC decides that 9 million a year for a bottom feeder program is too much, and ND comes begging for the Big Ten to be relevant again. ND wouldn't gain much from joining the Big Ten as most likely they'd still be mediocre year in year out, but at least when they lose their bowl game some people other than ND fans might give a hoot and want them to rise back to the top of college football.
