Closing the roof after 1/2 an inning because of rain threatening...
Reds got a 2 out walk but Joseph and nothing after.

Although the Reds got a runner on in the first inning compared to 3 up, 3 down last night, the prognosis for runs looks much bleaker tonight with the ABs they had in the first.

Bailey trying to ruin the streak of good pitching for the Reds. Hopefully he gets through this unscathed, because he usually gets better as the game goes on.

Of the 42 first inning pitches by Bailey, 20 of them were to batters with two strikes. He had no trouble getting them to two strikes - all 7 batters had two strikes so that is 22 of the 42 pitches were used getting a two strike count, or only 3.1 pitches per batter. He just couldn't put them away. There were 10 foul balls in the inning and just four swings without contact.

Morgan hammed it up on the ball by Rolen, it was a catch 90% of center fielders make. Drew Stubbs, however, turns that ball into a triple.

Homer may be the only pitcher in history that gets ahead 0-2 then gets scared to throw strikes.

Bailey gets a 10 pitch inning in the 3rd for 77 in the game. What are the chances he can use just 30-35 pitches to get three zeroes in the next three innings for a quality start? But even if he is on track for that, he still might be lifted for a PH.

Meso with a very decent AB. Homer stays in the game.

The best thing about tonight's game was that Bruce's HR went to the opposite field. And that the first runs the bullpen has given up in a while didn't really affect the game result.
