Indians took game 1 6-3 behind Choo and Supermanahan home runs and a key Johnny Damon triple.

Jeanmar Gomez was very solid keeping a potent Rangers line up at bay. Chris Perez recorded his 10th save. He seems to have really settled in after his opening day fiasco.

Derek Lowe goes tomorrow and everyone's favorite (Ubaldo) goes Sunday against Yu Darvish.

Go Tribe!

We got 8 of us going to Progressive on Sunday....it seems every time I go...Ubaldo is on the mound.

Ubaldo Jimenez vs. Yu Darvish. Let's hope the game isn't as weird as their names:laugh:

Was at the game... Ok crowd of 16k+... blah.

Great game though. We had 3rd row seats right next to the Tribe bullpen, Choo's HR was pretty close to us.

I really liked the line up. Choo looked a bit more comfortable batting 6th and a 1-2-3 of Damon, Kipnis, and Druby could be lethal.

Santana is really starting to heat up as well. Love his approach at the plate. He should approach .290 BA when it's all said and done.

It's pretty crazy that kipnis was at a 230 batting average 2 weeks ago and now he is up over 300. He is locked in right now.

Moved him out of the 7 hole. Which, to be honest, after what he did last year, was way to low to begin with.

Tribe staying healthy is huge. Not much depth. McCalister pitching well in the minors. We need 5 starters that can win...not 4. Jeanmar once again throws a really good quality start and for the first time all year, Colby Lewis gets lit up.

Props to Vinnie and Perez for doing their thing. I would give both of them the night off and use Haggone. Ascencio and Joe Smith today..if the need arises.

Fun with early stats:

Casey Kotchman has a higher OPS than Albert Pujols.

nothing to do with the game, but I just heard Terry Pluto say that Scott Boras is Choo's agent....blah.

If they fall out of contention before the all star break....you know what that means...

Cleveland will have to make a call up for mondays doubleheader against the White Sox. Id guess Mcallister or Kluber will get that start.

In true Dolan style though only the first 15,000 fans get one I think I heard.

He's gone at the end of the deal for sure, although at this point that may not be a bad thing the way he has played the past year and a half.

Boras never allows his clients to sign extensions mid deal (he loves free agency), so Choo will be traded at some point to at least insure they get something for him. They won't be able to do one of those extensions like they have recently with guys to lock them up longer term at less than market value. If they want Choo long term, it will be by paying through the nose market rates.

To be fair, that should cover everyone in attendance.

Hopefully Derek Lowe has a sinker going and is able to limit that line up from many scoring chances. Hopefully our offense can punish Derek Holland today. He's 2-2 with an ERA over 5... Have to take advantage of that.

There is a new rule where you can expand the roster to 26 for a day-night double header. I heard that McAllister is the one that is going to come up for the start.

McCallister got the call...a no brainer actually. Would love for someone to take advantage of the opportunity in becoming the fifth starter, and Ubaldo can be be traded for a few 44% prospects.

Speaking of trades, as bad as the Pomeranz/White debacle was, they have done phenominally well in the Casey Blake and Victor trades. I guess these things even out.

Spent a little time looking up Jeanmar's story. Wow. Undrafted...to the bigs...and pitching like that. Maybe the curse in Cleveland is on it's way out.

From the law of fairness...as bad as Kotchman has been, Lowe has been an unbelievably good/lucky signing.

What a great play by Asdrubal in the 4th. We'll see if it gets them out of trouble here.
