Do you see the faulty logic that only religious believers use to justify their erroneous beliefs?

Sounds like a loophole. How does it feel to live your life based on a man made loophole?

God commands us to work.

"For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: "If a man will not work, he shall not eat."

God gave those people legs? I think we can go ahead and chalk that up to science.

God has placed the correct balance of evidence of Himself in the world; enough to draw men freely to himself, but not enough to compel people to believe on Him who would not trust or love Him.

There are a lot of people who don't work and eat.

Hope this helps.

But if a man does not work, and therefore does not eat, isn't that part of God's plan?

Sounds like a cult to me. Enjoy living a fraudulent life based on a belief that has never and will never be proven to be the truth of anything.

Yet people in Africa believe in god probably more than anywhere else.

Poor and stupid....

They just need to realize that all those missionaries are being sent for them to eat...not listen to or be converted by. Everyone wins!

Are you serious right now?

I brush my teeth, I work, and like most people, I pray for wealth.

Also, I'm not lying about the medical thing. It has nothing to do with praying for a cure or something, I've just never really been sick and don't enjoy taking medicine. However, I do look at things as an ultimate plan and use that for justification when things like illnesses take a life even after being treated with surgery/medicine. Why didn't the medicine work for this person, but it did for this one?... Obviously people react to treatments differently, but I think you understand my point.

sleeper;1141585 wrote:Buddhism has almost nothing to do with monotheistic religions. They are definitely not the same person, and neither are Muhammad or Jesus. I mean, are you serious right now?
Them being the same person was a bad choice of words I'll admit. However, it's not just a coincidence that most religions have a "real" person seen as the chosen one and the person who they need to model their lives after, follow their teachings, and follow them to the promise land, whether it be heaven, nirvana.... I for one think that it's an odd coincidence.

It doesn't matter if you call him God, Allah, or whatever. The point is that the majority of religions have 1. a supernatural being 2. a prophet that lived on earth that was supposed to teach the masses and show them the light.

So are the people that are rich and considered intelligent that happen to be believers poor and stupid as well?

Don't confuse me with a bible thumper like that. I just don't like the doctor or medicine; plain and simple.

I know it's just a cartoon, but I really liked the Religion vs. Science episodes of South Park. I forget the exact quote, but it was something about the two sides complementing each other.

I'm a firm believer and know in my heart where I'm going when I die. I don't see it as my job to force my beliefs down your throat or make you believe my way. That has to be your choice. As a Christian, it's my job to merely inform you about it and let you make up your mind.

Yep Sleeper, religion is only about money and how much money it can make, Look at how wealthy one of the greatest people that ever lived was...

I don't consider myself a bible thumper by any means, but you're obviously really bothered by religion. Why so butt hurt?
