Geographically, from that list, Pitt or Missouri would make the most sense.

Off that list, I agree w/ justincredible -- Pitt and Missouri make by far the most sense.

Louisville would make sense as well. I wouldn't mind seeing WVU in the B10.

No way Missouri will leave the Big 12 so that one is out.

I doubt Syracuse or UC will leave their conferences.

So that would mark it down to Pitt, Louisville and Rutgers.

From what I had read on the Big Ten blog at ESPN was that the concern with the smaller schools on that list (Louisville, Pitt, UC) is that while they may benefit the league athletically...the may be an academic drain to the conference.

Penn State is pretty far East too. Honestly, there are more people who go to PSU that would consider themselves "East Coast" than would consider themselves "Midwest".

I agree--not only would this boost the Big Tens' rep academically,but would open up the New York media market as well

ND not on the list. That makes this the most realistic list yet.

Louisville or UC would be my faves. Pitt would be good too. Syracuse would be great for B-ball but they are a disaster in football. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Missouri is a pipe dream IMO. But they would have to be the perfect get for the conference.

I wouldn't mind Louisville. The football stadium seats 42k but the stadium web page states it is built to expand up to 80,000 so even half of that expansion would fit into a Big 10 size stadium. They would be strong in baseball and basketball as well as football (yes I think Strong will turn them around). Pitt would be a good choice IF they had their own football stadium. They don't bring as much in other sports though.

1-Cincinnati
2-Louisville
3-Pittsburgh
4-Missouri
5-Syracuse
6-Rutgers

Minnesota didnt have their own stadium until this year. So, that alone, wouldnt keep Pitt out.

I haven't been following this much, but would a 12th team bring the possibility of a Big 10 championship game?

Pitt wouldnt bring much in other sports? Both men and womens basketball teams have been very good.

Louisville and Pitt have stronger athletics but weaker academics. Syracuse is stronger Academically but weaker Athletically.

Pitt and Mizzou from that list appear to be the only two that actually have any sense of logical thought behind them. Of the two I'd rather see Mizzou.
