So then explain to me how our wrestling program is not as respectable as yours???

We have 3 individual state champions and you have 4 (with one guy accounting for 3 of them). I would bet money that we have sent just as many (if not more) individuals to state and I would guess that we have just as many state placers (if not more) than WH...Until Sponseller came along, WH wrestling was just another program...

4 state championship appearances. 1998 state champions. TRADITION!

Interesting, and I disagree by the way, according to Red Rider all those are irrelevant except the State Championship in 98'.

As for baseball, I think you have a good baseball team, good enough to make at least a small run in the playoffs, and look out in a year or two if they all keep playing.

For state champion wrestlers, I only know of two maybe 3. Spohnsellor, Hawkins, and maybe Carmony, but not sure he won. I will have to go back in the books to see.
Red Rider doesn't have a clue about tradition then!

My point was finishing second in a conference means nothing. No one hangs a banner for that anywhere. Try to keep up fellas.

Mr. 300 West Holmes is probably out of luck, will not being throwing either one of our frontline pitchers against Ashland Friday and Sat. will be saving them for Mon and Tues. for District play. My guess is we will see both of their frontline pitchers since they play Senior tonight in Tourney and can beat them with their 3 or 4 pitcher.

I believe we are throwing our 2 tomorrow. He may be on pitch count, but can easily come back Tuesday. The big question will be who Tuslaw throws Monday against Chipp. I am gonna guess they save their 1 for Tuesday if at all possible.

Ashland's Adam Schaly threw a 17-K no-hitter. Is he the same one who had a perfect game earlier this year?

Ashland 10
Orrville zippo

Ashlands pitcher only faces 16 hitters in 5 innings and nearly has perfect game. No hits, no walks, only base runner is on a dropped 3rd strike. Riders have now lost 5 of 6 and play Ashland tomorrow morning at Ashland.

300 was referring to Orrville not Triway. We need Orrville to beat Ashland once to put us in a tie for OCC title.

There is your mothers day present WH Orrville 10 Ashland 6. Beat Ashland starting a soph. only his second apperance on the mound all year, and closed by a guy with his third trip to the mound on the year. Tough day for Ashland ruined both senior day and prom night.

Nice job Orrville. Congrats on the victory.

Now the Knights have to play 2 against Madison to gain a share of the title. !st game is Monday night. Should be interesting what coach McDowell does with the pitching. Baird"s injury leaves us down an ace, but only have a one game district on Wed, which I would think Snyder will pitch. My guess is he would pitch Dial on Monday.

Score from today....WH 8 Northwestern 5.

Trevor Kerr with a fine performance on the mound tonight. Gave up a hit to the lead off batter and none after that. A few mental breakdowns but did enough to win on the offensive side.

Geesh Pitman, thanks for stealing our joy!!;)

First district title for WH since 1966. What a great night for a group of boys that seem to be peaking at the right time. Gabe Snyder was a beast on the mound tonight, and the offense blitzed all three pitchers for Cambridge. Left the bases loaded 4 times in the first six innings. On to the regionals we go.

Prayers go out to the centerfielder for Cambridge (Ford). He was taken away by ambulance after injuring what looked to be his knee in the top of the 7th inning trying to make a play.

Also, if the district ever decides to have a tournament game at River View, they are crazy. That is a HORRIBLE cow pasture to play on
