I had jury duty a while back. I just had to call in every day after three, but my number was never came up.
I was able to get out of it once many years ago. I ran into the County Prosecutor and a local pub/restaurant and mentioned that my job prevented me from duty. He gave me the old guilt trip it. So the next time I gave it a shot, but got lucky.

Send a “certified letter” to the Judge and or the Authority.
Stating that you are a business owner of a small (minor league) business and that your business is depended on your skills to keep the operation functioning at it maximum proficiency any short term interruption could cost the business irreversible financial damage.
Give a example of the potential if the system goes down.
Or you could post the Judge Name and e mail address and the OC could send e-mails that should basically speak volume of your moral and social values.

Last time I went I wore dress pants, a white hood, a tie, dress pants and dress shoes. I didn't get selected.justincredible;1129905 wrote:Believe me, I won't have a guilty conscious if I can get out of it because I won't be lying to get out of it. I'm simply going to have my boss write a letter explaining the burden it would put on the company. If that gets me out, great. If not, I'll deal with it.
Also, what does one typically wear to jury duty? Because I'll be showing up in jeans and a t shirt if I have to report.

I just found out that I'll be required to pay for parking if I have to report to the courthouse. That sucks.

Yeah, they validate for me to get a "discount" rate. I still have to pay $5 or $6 depending on the lot I park in.Skyhook79;1130178 wrote:They probably validate.

Yep and that's about 2 hours worth of pay for jury duty.

If your company doesn't pay you for being on jury duty. You don't have to serve.

i have been selected for jury duty numerous times, all were cancelled except for one. After they seated about 6 of the jurors they came to my number and asked " why would you make a good jury member?"
I looked the attorney in the eye and replied "Because I can tell if a guy is guilty just by looking at him"
The attorney turned toward the judge and asked that i be excused, and i was back to work by 10 am......

Walked into jury duty smelling like Christian Slater once, that'll get you dismissed quickly lol
Smelling like Christian Slater? What he do, fuck you in the ass and cum in your hair and you forgot to shower?

Don't do that. You may be held in contempt and forced to stay there the entire time anyway. Or be fined.Bio-Hazzzzard;1129371 wrote:Do what I did, I wrote a letter and said that I do not believe I should be forced serve in jury duty. I also said that whoever the defendant is for this case they are already guilty if I would be there juror. I basicically wanted to let them now that my decision would be guilty no matter what, that's what relieved me of duty.

If they asked "why would you make a good jury member?" I could answer it truthfully and they might dismiss me.Mr Miyagi;1130355 wrote:i have been selected for jury duty numerous times, all were cancelled except for one. "I honestly do not feel like I would be a good jury member. I am easily distracted and my mind tends to wander when I am bored. Unless I find the case interesting I would likely make a terrible juror."
Would that get me in trouble?

I'd hope not. Because if I got called on, that'd be my answer and it'd be honest. I don't give a fuck about shit like that. And if I don't care about something, it shows.justincredible;1131032 wrote:If they asked "why would you make a good jury member?" I could answer it truthfully and they might dismiss me.

Yeah, they may not like the answer but it would be 100% truth. Now, if the case was interesting I'd have no problem paying attention.Heretic;1131034 wrote:I'd hope not. I think simply telling them your importance to your company is enough to get you off. If not, ban them from the OC.
