I got out of it because being straight commission sales it would effect my families livlihood. My second option was a doctors excuse in that there's NO way I could sit on a jury stand. I urinate more frequently than perhaps anyone on the planet.

How hard is it to get out of jury duty when me being out of the office would be detrimental to our company? We only have 3 employees, I'm the only one that does development, and we are busy as shit right now.

Odds are good you'll never go....they'll cancel/settle sometime 24 hours before.

Just don't go....hope this helps

You get in trouble

Walk in with a hoodie on and ask if you will be getting to convict any White/Hispanics.

I'm sure your boss can find someone else to post on Ohio Chatter for 8 hours instead of you.

Pretty sad that some people make up excuses to get out of doing their civic duty, probably the same people who complain about the justice system. No wonder not guilty verdicts happen such as OJ and Casey Anthony.

Just ask LJ. He'll google the Judge and pretend he knows him and can get you off jury duty. Then when you're fined and jailed for not showing up, LJ will deny everything and delete all the posts saying he could get you out of jury duty.

Man up and go do your service. I had jury duty a couple years ago and I hoped it would get canceled (I own a couple of small businesses). Ended up not getting canceled, I got selected for jury service and was the jury foreman. It honestly was a great experience. Except for the scumbag that we threw the book at for robbing a pharmacy of $200K of class 3 drugs. I dont think he enjoyed it much when the verdict was read.

Suck it up and go do it. Chances are it will get canceled because the person on trial will plea bargain. If not, you might enjoy it. Afterwards you can tell eveyone on OC about the case.

Is it okay that I have a legit excuse or do I suck as an American as well? Please help.

If I get stuck on a jury our company comes to a halt while I am out. It has nothing to do with maning up. I don't want to fuck over my employer while we are extremely busy. We have deadlines that need to be met.

Many people work who called for jury duty. The earth nor your workplace will not cease to exist if you are not there for a day or 7.

That is glad to know. I own 2 businesses and I am in one of them every day of the work week. They need me too, but I am sure the place wont shut down because you are not there for a day or two.

You're absolutely right that a day or two wouldn't matter. But if I get stuck on some long, drawn out trial it would absolutely hurt our business.

Jury duty should only be done for those who are unemployed. I'd rather pay people to sit at a court house for 8 hours a day than sit at home eating cheesepuffs.

Good for you JUSTIN, stick it to them!

Very rarely does a trial last that long. Just become the foreman of the jury if you are selected and tell the jury members to get sh!t cooking cause you have to get back to work :)

Good luck with whatever choice you make. If you dont want the guilty conscience of trying to get out of it, simply show up and p!ss your pants and set in your chair drooling all over the place with your eyes rolled back in your head. You will be the first one out of there.

Believe me, I won't have a guilty conscious if I can get out of it because I won't be lying to get out of it. I'm simply going to have my boss write a letter explaining the burden it would put on the company. If that gets me out, great. If not, I'll deal with it.

Also, what does one typically wear to jury duty? Because I'll be showing up in jeans and a t shirt if I have to report.
