My buddy has laptop that when it boots up, the login accounts don't show up on the screen to login. I've tried safe mode, last known good config, used the restore disk to try to repair it. Anyone know what is going on, and how to fix it?

Windows 7. That's about all the specs I have. It gets to the screen where the logon accounts should be, then nothing else happens.

Vague/pointless advice is vague and pointless.

Have you tried a system restore?
