There is a difference between race and nationality.
You can be black and be irish, italian, or whatever, but you cant be white and be black.

there are scholarships for people from appalaccia(sp) that go to i would say 99 percent whites. however since i am half black and half white and from west virginia i recieved some book money back in the day. i also recieved some book money for being poor and black. so i guess you can be black and white

affirmative action by definition is racist. It's giving preferential treatment to a stated race, while disallowing it for others. Whatever the reasons for it (good or bad), the act itself is racist.

It is considered a race in this county by the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission).
