My understanding is that it would be to put a pin or screw in there to stabilize the injury.

I'm not all that familiar with scaphoid bone injuries, but it seems like if it isn't taken care of properly, it could cause even more permanent damage. There is no way Roy will risk Kendall's future. Like I said, we'll see what the medical team says.

Is that the dissecting of a word?

Give a thumbs up and feel the bone that sticks out...that's what he fractured. While painful, for Marshall's main skill set (passing), it shouldn't have a ton of effect. The biggest concern would be extensively dribbling and any possible contact he would take to the wrist when driving to the lane.

Too much size for UNC, they should kill OU inside and on the boards.

Jeff Goodman from CBS....
Just spoke with Dennis Marshall -- Kendall's father. Confirmed surgery scheduled for tomorrow morning to insert screw in non-shooting wrist.
Dennis Marshall told http://CBSSports.com doctors said it depends how much pain Kendall can take. Won't know anything until after surgery.

I know that it's a minor bone, but I just worry about lasting effects if he happens to injure it again. Wouldn't want his mobility in that hand/wrist to be permanently affected. If that's not an issue, Kendall will play. There's no way he doesn't play if the medical team releases him.

:laugh:I broke my thumb in mid-December and couldn't dribble till mid February and my ball handling still is badly impaired in left hand. And that's just one of the fingers. No way can you play with a broken wrist, no way

I'm hoping OU loses for a selfish reason. I want my alma mater, Kent State, to remain the only MAC team in history to win 30 games in a season. Of course, I hate UNC very much, so I won't be too miserable if OU pulls it out.

Oh I hope nobody would try hitting his hand. That'd be dirty!! .......

Honestly, if I am coaching against UNC with Marshall, not only do I make him go right, but I make sure to foul him 3-5 times hard on that wrist.

Part of sports. If you're going to play through a publicized injury, be prepared for your opponents to take shots at it. As long as it's within the rules of the game (ie a foul but not a flagrant one), then I'm okay with it.

That's not within the rules of the game, so I would say that's dirty. But targeting Henson's wrist when he goes up for a shot with that hand I wouldn't consider dirty.

LOL exactly!! I don't really care if the players on my favorite team are taking shots at an opponents injuries. I'd expect the same if the roles were reversed.

UNC fans QQ'ing about the Creighton players being "dirty" are funny to me.

Surgery or not, he is not going to be 100% if he does play. This is a HUGE loss for UNC. If he plays, he will not shoot well and will probably have a ton of turnovers. For crying out loud its his wrist and this is basketball.

I think UNC will plan on him not playing and set up their offense without him. They are deep.

But I think this gives OU an excellent of pulling up the upset.

Henson WAS NOT hit multiple times after the whistle. The second swipe was while the whistle was blowing. Quit QQ about it.
