I have my HP Touchpad flashed with Android ICS. I'll pass on "The new iPad"... BTW, WTF if up with the stupid ass name?

If the iPhone 5 is as underwhelming as this, I'll either stick to the 4 or see if there is actually a worthy Android phone out by then.

What more were you hoping for? And while the name is dumb, who really cares? When the first iPad came out people hated the name iPad.

I was hoping for more than upgraded RAM, camera, and screen resolution... It just didn't have the "wow" factor for me. To me, it's the iPad 2S...

The new iPad didn't get an A6 chip, just an upgraded A5 chip.. The camera is light years better than the iPad 2, but it's still average compared to the 4S. I would have been more pleased if it were 8MP rear and

I think it's becoming harder for Apple to live up to the constant hype that they're going to release ground breaking products.

The new iPad will be the best tablet on the market, but if I had an iPad 2, I probably wouldn't rush to buy it. If I look to get an iPad, I'll probably look at used iPad 2's.

Hopefully the iPhone 5 delivers.

As someone without an iPad it's the perfect time for me to jump in. I was mainly waiting for the retina display. Now I really have no reason to wait.

There is nothing ground-breaking or innovative about this device. Apple needs to up the ante if they wish to win over new buyers.

No, there's nothing that would've made me upgrade if I already had one. I also don't believe that every device the release needs to be "ground breaking."

All they do is announce an event. They don't start the speculation.

This is true. Their marketing has become such a grandiose show that anything short of a revolutionary update is automatically a disappointment. Even if most of their products are the most advanced in their class and killing the market share.

Why bother with such a huge event?

And don't think for a second that Apple doesn't have anything to do with the hype.

"Hey, make sure everyone knows about our announcement. EVERYONE!"

I wouldn't call them huge events. It's a conference room with random media types in the audience. Amazon did the same thing when announcing the Kindle Fire and that thing is a hunk of shit. Apple is not the only company to do this.

I'm not saying its bad. They could announce a new turd and there would be hundreds of media outlets. No other company gets all that free PR, it just happens to be that because of their successes their fans and detractors have super high standards. No one would get on Amazon or HP for making the same improvements Apple just did.
