Ultimately probably the most value these cards have is to pass on to your kids/grandkids one day.
Maybe there are too many cards out there and too many people who will hang-on forever, but I wonder if over time the steroid kings (Sosa, McGwire, Bonds...maybe Clemens) won't get a significant premium attached to their value.

Damn, I have a Colin Powell Desert Shield, wonder how much that is worth. I have a lot of the Desert Storm cards, I think complete sets. I used to be big into card collecting in the late 80's to mid 90's. I haven't checked in years, but I had quite a few cards that, at the time, were very valuable. Wonder if they have lost all value?justincredible;1100274 wrote:Ahh, yeah, the Desert Shield cards are pricey even if they aren't graded. There are some military members out there sitting on a gold mine.
I'll do better than Justin, I'll give you $10 and buy you a 6-pack of your favorite beer and a bottle of your favorite booze. Eh?like_that;1100567 wrote:I have had this card for awhile. I was thinking about giving it away, or just throwing it away. Seems useless.

Wow, thanks for that site. I have a lot of cards that look to be close to $100 or more. I used to collect the "special edition" type cards that were more rare, which seems to have allowed them to maintain some sort of value. I am guessing most of the other ones I have, unless they are Jeter rookies or Shaq or some other HOF rookie card, will be pretty worthless.

Back in elementary all the DARE cops carried about "Cop Cards" which were trading cards of the local police force. We tried to complete the local set.LJ;1101549 wrote:Rofl I think I have that whole Desert Storm set.

I have just about every Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card. I remember (yes, back in the day) when the Upper Deck rookie card was the most sought after card on the market. Got it for Christmas one year. I remember being at a card show at the Nutter Center and watching a kid open a pack with that card in there. THere has never been a time, in my entire 30 years of existence, where I had more of an urge to punch someone in the balls as hard as I can.

Funny. My step brothers and I all got that card for Christmas one year as well. I'm sure I still have it.ernest_t_bass;1101693 wrote:I have just about every Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card. It's only value is as something to write a note on or to fold up and level a wobbly table.rydawg5;1101473 wrote:I have a 1990 Pro Set "Thane Gash" from Cleveland Browns card. How much?
