Me too. If he gets past the Rams, I'm now hearing that the Vikings want "Julio Jones compensation" like the Browns got from Atlanta last year.

John Clayton (ESPN) said on a Saturday morning radio show this morning...

He made it pretty clear that the Browns will trade up for RGIII. He said the Browns would out-bid Washington and probably give up both 1st rounders, a 2nd round pick, and maybe even a 3rd if need be. He said Washington would probably offer their 2012 & 2013 1st, 2nd, & 3rd picks.

He said Browns view RGIII as having much more upside than Matt Flynn and that Holmgren is keen on generating more fan interest. He said the Browns don't view Flynn as doing nearly as much as RGIII to increase fan interest.

I don't think it will happen unless Washington is in the mix. How awesome would it be if RG3 slid to #4 just because no one wanted to deal.....the Browns can really do some damage with 2 first rounders

What's MORE likely to happen is Manning to Miami, Flynn to Seattle, RG3 to the Skins and the Browns fall into a pile of tits only to come out sucking their thumb.

I wouldn't consider having 2 first rd picks as "sucking their thumb."

Holmgren is keen on generating more fan interest.
This is why someone is going to move up and pay a steep price to get RGIII.

Whether it is us or someone else, getting RGIII creates a buzz that is invaluable.

If you are a charisma challeneged regime such as the one we have, RGIII takes care of all of that. Shurmur can be as boring as he wants, and Holmgren can be as condescending to the fan base as he wants and no one will give 2 shits because we have RGIII.

Just think for a second how different the atmosphere around this team and fan base would be if Flynn/McCoy was starting the season under center, or RGIII.

THat kind of stuff matters when you are trying to win back a fan base that is just tired of losing.

A lot of people are making this out to be a do or die situation with the QB position. I just don't buy into that crap. The team will get better if they have both their draft picks, and we don't get RGIII.

I am not too thrilled about giving up all those picks just to move up 2 sports for RGIII. I'd give up those picks for Aaron Rodgers, not a guy in which we have no idea how well he will do in the NFL.

Not going to argue about it but how did that drafting Roethlisberger work out for the Browns? Oh yeah they didn't, Butch Davis chose to "build the team with weapons" by drafting Winslow instead after telling Roethlisberger he was the pick.

Apples to oranges. The Browns passed up on rapistberger, they didnt consider to give up 4 to 5 draft picks. If RG3 falls to the Browns then by all means draft him.

I'm not advocating giving up their whole draft for him but if it takes both 1st's and another pick, pull the trigger. I wouldn't give up any more than that.

Howard Eskin, some NBC sports guy somewhere tweeted this today: I'm told by people within Redskins they are prepared to offer picks 1,2 and 3 this year, at least a 1 next year to move up to get RG3 at 2. The Browns would have a hard time beating that, since they have so many holes to fill.

this is why Dan Snyder is awful. If the Browns beat that offer...I would be pissed.

As i was saying, it's not worth it to offer such a deal to move up 2 spots for a guy that we have no idea how his game will translate in the NFL. Dan Synder has always been a fucking idiot. If he does this, I hope it sets them back.
