Sadly, the mods here are against entertainment. They'd rather feel important moderating a forum that at best has 30 active users and banning those they can't win an argument against.

I ain't mad, either, but per usual, my entire goal is to provide entertainment and put ND fans in their place. The latter is much easier when they haven't won anything in 20+ years.

interview with Neal talking about his decision. His final 2 were Arkansas and Notre Dame and the decision was made last Wednesday. No fighting with his dad yesterday morning.

Seems like a good kid, but you could tell he got a nervous when asked about the no-show. No phone access? Come on now. Anyway, it sounds like he's happy with his choice, and it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

btw, ND vs. Arkansas if he was looking at academics? no brainer there (pun intended)

Apparently Neal's cousin was shot and killed at 2:30 Tuesday morning which is why he wasn't at the elementary school for his announcement. Think there will be any apologies from the reporters who blasted him or they'll just let it go?

So 8 pm Thursday night this news is finally released?

Not one person was like "uhh hey guys, his cousin died...obviously the reason why he didn't show up"

I don't buy it

They said it was a family emergency that they'd rather keep to themselves at the moment. They were tight lipped about the whole process, why anyone would expect them to hold a press conference to announce a death in the family. This is the second death of a cousin in two weeks, who cares what you buy?

If I had a decision that the whole country was waiting on, and I set up a press conference, and then a death in my family happened, I'd probably not do the press conference. But I'd make sure everyone knows the real reason, not just go 2 days with everyone calling me a dick.

You're probably correct, they are making it up to try to save face. His dad has probably been dreaming this whole scenario up for months which is why osu stopped recruiting him.

It being made up makes a lot more sense than "we have a press conference at an elementary school planned where the whole country is waiting to hear what you say. Our cousin dies but we're gonna go almost 3 days before we tell anyone, which would take about 5 seconds out of our time, what really happened."
