Unlike at Ohio State, where underage drinking is basically encouraged and you have to be fighting or burning things to get arrested (and that's a compliment), South Bend cops tend to hate the students and football players. Anyone who's ever lived in South Bend or attended Notre Dame knows that. Did you know that the Chief of Police has recently sued Notre Dame? Did you know that the neighbors came out and said that the party wasn't overly loud at all? Did you know that five people jumped the fence at this party and every cop ran after only Tommy Rees?

That said, Tommy Rees is a fucking moron. I seriously doubt that he actually was violent towards a police officer, and thus the charges weren't felonious (and still need to be proven), but you never run from the cops. I can definitely see his inebriated mind thinking that the cops were "out to get him," but running from the cops is never, ever a good idea.

I think he should be suspended for the year.

I think the Notre Dame administation will FORCE Kelly to boot Reese off the team if the story is even close to being true. The summer time suspensions that Kelly has been handing out in the past (for alcohol related incidents) will not fly this time.

1) Jamaal Berry was suspended and eventually kicked off the team.
2) IT WAS A BB GUN LOL. And he was later booted from the team after being charged with an OVI.
3) All charges against Chris Carter were dropped.

I doubt Rees is suspended for the year. I'm thinking he will get a Floyd-esque punishment (i.e. get "good" grades, being forced to move into a dorm (gasp!), and not having to report for voluntary workouts).

Anyway, kinda sucks that Rees got caught, not really doing anything others haven't done, too bad he's not bright enough to keep out of the situation and be rastlin' with the cops...shoulda just stayed in doors Tommy boy lol.

If he doesn't run, there is likely nothing to the story at all. He and Calabrese were the only two at the party arrested. Everyone else there obeyed what the police were saying. Definitely has no one to blame but himself, just stupid.

He put himself in a bad position, yes, but you have to wonder how much of what he did and what Calabrese said was blown out of proportion. The bottom line is he may have backed Kelly and ND into a corner, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
