Wow, Wow, Wow.....if it's true that they knew on Sat, why was the kid allowed to wrestle?

Furuta is now in at 145 for the kid from New Albany who hurt his knee. That gives St. Charles 5 qualifiers not bad for a team ranked 23rd in the district. All the qualifiers met or exceeded their seeding.

Little off topic, but who do you think will have the most underclassmen points. I know it doesn't have as much significance anymore with the knew state dual format, but always interesting to look at and think about the next year. I know Olentangy has quite a few seniors, Teays Valley has a decent mix but I don't see many of their underclassmen scoring a lot of points except for little Nace. Marysville has a good mix of seniors and underclassmen and probably will be at the top of that list. Who else do you guys see filling out the top 5 of underclassmen points?

Darby could enter that conversation if they wrestle well. Only 1 Sr with Bowens.
Valenti Donatelli Black and Walker all have a shot to place with 2 other frosh there also but not really figuring to do too much.

Prolly just off the top of my head
Mville still deep!
Liberty big scorers with penzone and ryan
Lancaster young mid-uppers
PN Gutierez and the twins
WM looks young
Darby
???

Great question!

Heard he made scratch at the Olentangy Invitational but a couple of coaches were challenging the fact that he made scratch at the lower weight but wrestled at a higher weight that day. I don't know all the ins and outs of the exact rule though. Coach can't find the original weigh in sheet. I've heard rumors circulating for a couple of days. Some coaches from other schools supposively have the weights that verify he made scratch at that tourney and others have conflicting info. Too bad for Pollitt. I hope this isn't a personal issue between a couple of coaches that is been taken out on this kid.

Wonder about kids who made scratch but violated the "no more than 1.5% of alpha weight loss per week" rule...this one is simple as long as the dates are on the alpha forms but what about kids who drop right before sectionals? Does anyone check to see if they exceeded the amount? If the rule is really to protect safe weight loss practices then shouldn't it be a check as well?

I suspect this will fire up a lot of "stupid rules made by people who aren't in touch" comments...fire away!

Marysville easily wins this with a lot of good underclassmen. Darby will definitely be up there. I think Pick. Central should be up there with 6 qualifiers all as underclassmen. Mt. Vernon has Lybarger and Riley that will score some big points.

If the kid had to pay the price because his "Coach can't find the original weigh in sheet"......??

Anything on Tullius? Looked serious when they took him off the mat on Saturday on a backboard.

I just talked to him a few minutes ago.....on weight and good to go. Everything they did at Watkins was precautionary.....and rightly so.

So he made scratch at their own tourney they hosted and wrestled up a weight class and the coach doesnt have their weigh in sheet to prove it and never thought he'd get called out?????
i know there is some confusion on when you make scratch, you have to wrestle at that weight. The way Ive been told, you do not have to wrestle at that weight class you made scratch at, as long as you step on the mat you make scratch if you hit the correct weight on the scale. Coaches always reserve the right to bump.

What actually did happen to him @ Watkins in the finals? I saw him with what appeared to be extremely sore ribs / breathing difficulty after his matches prior to the final
