I get him wanting to stay loyal but damn hed be a 20 game winner regularly if he had a semi competent offense.hasbeen;1247864 wrote:as a mariners fan, i agree. However, he has said so many times he loves seattle and wants to stay. he's smoking something.

His 4th complete game shutout in past 10 starts. Such a beast.

Although a perfect game against a Derek Shelton offense does diminish my respect for it.

Good debate on MLB network. In a 1-0 game of a perfecto.. Is bunting for a hit ok?
I say yes. You play to win the game!

Ehh I dont really care if someone bunts at any time during a PG. But I can see why it would be frowned upon in anything more than a 3 or so run game.

Bizarrely, the Pirates don't. Considering how streaky their offense is and how often they're utterly inept at the plate, it is a minor miracle they've not been no-hit or anything in the last couple years.Rotinaj;1247839 wrote:Are the rays the only team in baseball that gets PGs and NHs thrown against them?

We'll see. What's amazing is he's only 32. 400, 500, 600, 700?
The guy may go down as one of the best pure power hitters ever. I mean if he's given 600 at-bats a year and allowed to hit .200 with 200+ K's, you gotta imagine he's got at least 5-7 years left.

All his homers come with a 4 or more run lead.

4 players in MLB history have had a .300 average, 10 HR, 50 rbi season after they turned 40. Name them.

Bonds was way over everything in 2004 but he was 39 until July 24th....from there on (age 40) he was at .365, way over 10 HR and 46 RBI ....so close
Brett and Winfield fell short on average.
Other guesses? Ted Williams? Hank? Carlton Fisk?
