Sooooo Pappelbon paid Thome $5K today for hitting a HR.

Roger Goodell is an idiot for punishing players and coaches for offering money to hurt opponent's players?

I realize you hate Goodell and think he can do no right, but there's no way you can hate on him for this bounty thing.

Agreed. I don't get the hatred toward Goodell. He is a good comish imo.

He's an excellent commish. It's impossible to make zero mistakes as an NFL commissioner, so if you can't live with a bad move here and there, idk what to tell you.

He's a tough, smart guy that knows what he's doing and genuinely cares about the game and the players.

Didn't get to watch any of the Boston/Atlanta series except for the last two innings Friday night. I've never heard of more than half of their team. Is that due mostly to injury or trying to cut payroll?

Combination of new faces and injuries. Middlebrooks is the new third baseman, Aviles the new SS, their outfield has been missing Ellsbury and Crawford for most of the year. Those two get healthy and the lineup is a lot more intimidating. Not that I'm complaining, over the last month and a half they've been very, very good. Cody Ross has really stepped up (2 HR, 5 RBI today), Nava has filled in well, Kalish and McDonald in center have been serviceable.

This is the first I've been able to watch Dickey pitch this year. Looks like its gonna be a good duel between him and CC.

Mariners had 5 hits today. Pitcher hector noesi had two of them. His first two of his career. His first hit he blooped into right field and he was looking into left at contact.
