That was just a little dig at Crimson Streak. He said that the Tigers only had Verlander and the rest of the rotation was bad. I tried to argue....but I guess my idea of a good pitcher is different than his. It's ok....I just thought the rotation was pretty good, especially after Scherzer got going.

I will admit, when the comment was made Tigers fans were touting their pen and others like myself said that Valverde and Benoit sucked ass, and Phil Coke was a spot guy versus lefties. Tigers fans loved them...

Also, at the time, Smyly and Porcello were pitching. Fister was hurt and not pitching (or well when he was making his starts) and Scherzer had an ERA in the 4 something range and was like 79th in the AL. At the time, it was Verlander. Sanchez hadnt been traded for (awesome trade, btw. Loved him in Florida). So yes, at the time, it was largely Verlander. But Fister was always going to come back well and Max is a big time K guy. I didnt think he would get the ERA to where it is now though.
