Maybe if they advertise the college as "Home of Dave Chapelle" it'll help Antioch's attendence.

Still have to pay room and board.

I hope it rebounds...sort of. It's not like Ohio needs any MORE higher education institutions.

I remember back when Antioch was open before. One weekend at OU, a couple of us went there to spend the weekend with friends of one of us. Great time. Lot of partying. If I'd gone there...0.0 GPA.

Marietta College should be free since their education is worthless.

They're actually doing well right now (because of alumni donations). I know they are getting ready to do quite a bit of new construction on the campus.

Interesting. Although I hope for their sake they get more than they paid for because nothing is known about the quality and competition in the new program. A potential employer has a good idea of your capability if you have a 3.5 from an IU or OSU because you did well competing with thousands. In this case, however, the class of 75 will consist of people apparently too poor (or, more likely, too naive) to invest even a few thousand dollars in their future to attend a more competitive and established college. If you can afford better (keeping in mind a fair amount of affordable student loan $ is out there), then why in the world would you choose Antioch?

I'm guessing this is not the business model, ultimately. They are making it free for a few years probably to attract higher caliber students to choose from to build off of as a base. Then with a reputation for being selective and having quality students, they'll jack up tuition like everyone else.

Never knew anyone that went there for school, but that town is awesome. Great park system, cool down town, etc... I like the vibe.

Notable alumni include Coretta Scott King (MLK's wife) and Rod Serling (creator of The Twilight Zone). Most of the alums are a bunch of old hippies who spent their time there with long hair and bad mouthing their country. Expect much of the same for the new classes.

Around the time I was in high school I remember they had that silly ordinance that required couple to get signed waivers for "Public Display of Affection".

If they start athletic programs in the near future...I may be applying for a job.

I've kept that option open since I saw they reopened last year.

word. Maybe get Vince to help coach race walkers. Hardly any costs. Use YS HS's track.
Possibly pick up some hidden gems within the CBC.

Makes sense to me.

Antioch was open when I was in college and it was a joke school and admissions were a joke. No grades, just classes where people just sit around and talk about their feelings and gripe about everything wrong with the world - shockingly not enough alumni support kept it open because their grads couldn't get jobs aside from professional protesting and conspiracy theorizing - neither of which pays well.

The only thing positive that came out of it was a quite humorous bit on Saturday Night Live about date rape starring the late Chris Farley, the late Phil Hartman and Shannon Doherty satirizing Antioch's date rape policy that more or less stated that if a guy didn't have permission in writing from a girl any type of sexual activity was considered rape.
