I don't even know where Indian Creek is, and I certainly wouldn't find out just to drive all the way out there and vote for this. Schools have plenty of money. Tell the teacher's union to cut their dues.

Come on Justin, the rule is stupid, remove it.

Actually, if something gets moved and there's a question, it gets unapproved for LJ to review and reopen.

However, keep talking out of your ass. Apparently people like it.

So? It's still an active thread. The approval process is a useless feature in this type of forum. It serves ZERO purpose.

Here's a thought, if a thread is posted that is against the forum rules, LJ can close them. Wow, what a concept, just the way it works in every other forum. At least if something is time sensitive, it can be available immediately for feedback rather than waiting 3-4 days before a thread is approved by LJ. The politics forum generates the least amount of thread turnover than any other forum and its not even close. Allow threads to be posted, and you will encourage more people to start threads in the politics forum.

I wanted to add, all the approval process does is make current threads more off topic and significantly longer. It's stupid, it takes 100 pages of reading just to get on topic. Let's call a spade a spade, the entire process is for LJ to feel special. Time for LJ to grow up.

"Although most had thought that the new one would be in Mingo, it will be in the current spot where our high school is now."

Yea...good luck with getting Mingo to vote for it then, and since they're the reason you couldn't pass a levy for 15 years it doesn't bode well. BTW, I do live in the district, 5 mins from the school. Wanna guess how I voted?

Actually, I moved the thread. And almost all of the time I unapprove the thread after moving them so LJ can approve. However, I figured LJ would approve this one so I didn't unapprove it. It seemed like a legit topic. LJ can let me know if I stepped over the line. God knows I really don't want anything to do with this forum.

Finally, this forum is only around because LJ agreed to mod it with these rules. No one else wanted to mod it. And we were just going to have no politics as bad as CFB gets, political fights get worse.

There is no way that is even close to the truth. There are not any good reasons why a thread has to be approved before it's posted. Sometimes it takes 2 to 3 days for one to be approved and posted. If it's not an appropiate thread then just delete it or move to the basement like every other forum does.

Actually it is true. People will kill over politics (wars, revolutions, protests turned violent, etc.) People rarely kill over sports and when it does happen there is usually a lot of political unrest behind it as it being an unstable country.

The whole approval process is to make this a more civilized discussion.

And that barely even works because everything has become so partisan (which goes well with the fact that many of our political posters are retards also).

If it were a free for all, it sadly could be a lot worse. There literally is no limit to how bad arguments can get here.
