Just so we're clear, you don't get to just state whether or not you're a racist. Your actions and words define what you are, not your self-image.

Its about the same as someone saying "I'm funny" despite nothing they say or do actually being funny (like 80% of Ohio Chatter. Note: posting some internet meme on a thread or spitting out the same lines over and over from thread to thread is not funny). See, to be able to CALL yourself funny you have to actually BE funny which is something that is decided by others, not by you.

The line "I'm not racist" is a security blanket for white (or black, etc.) people to make themselves feel better. It's like an automatic excuse to be able to say something racist because "it's okay, because I'M not racist". So yeah, everybody in this thread saying racist shit and this "boo hoo woe is me I'm white why can't I say the n word too, double standard!" whiny bullshit is racist.

Sadly, I have. Once, while traveling by bus in San Francisco, I was sitting next to a few blacks and, in a friendly manner, asked the male to shine my shoes. He got all upset and tried to make it a race thing, so to defuse the situation, I informed him that I wasn't looking at things like that and didn't even care if he was a Chinaman, as long as he did a good job. Apparently, this thick-headed fool wasn't bright enough to understand this and tried to escalate the situation, even threatening violence. So I did the only thing I could and repeatedly rained blows upon his thick head, leaving him a bloody mess. I then left the bus to find someone willing to fucking shine some shoes, while this man's women were screaming about obtaining amber lamps or something like that.

Sounds like a cover up to me. Ha

This thread reminds me of when Lou Dobbs was branded as a racist because he came out against illegal immigration. It turns out he is married and has 4 kids with a woman of Mexican dissent. Just figured I would throw that in since someone brought up the subject of people calling names when they don't have a concrete argument in a debate.

When I worked at a car dealership ( witht the name of a well known ex Browns football player) I worked in the detail department which was me and 8 black guys. A large food truck used to come in around 9:15 every morning and we would all get food and chill out around this big tabel for about 20 min. They didnt talk to me the first 2-3 weeks I was thier, so one day asked them why. They just stared at me untill one of them said "Because you white". I told them I was only half white and half minority after that I couldnt get them to stop talking to me.
They used to spend the day talking about how bad and racist white people were and blaming all the problems they had on white people, it got pretty rediculous and I even said messed up shit so they would stop talking to me.

I've either witnessed it or experienced it a few times in my life.

1. While in hs, my buddies and I would walk across the street to this arcade/pizza joint for lunch (before we could drive). There were a few kids there that graduated a few years prior and still lived at home and had no jobs. For about 2 weeks straight, this one guy called me everything in the book; a new one each day (Black, Mexican, Middle Eastern...). I finally got pissed one day and went off on him about making up his mind; said something to the effect that once he decides, I'll mold myself to the stereotype and reminded him that "******s carry guns and Spics carry knives, so choose wisely". He never said another word to me.

2. When my wife and I first started dating, she told me she was afraid to introduce me to her dad because of how he had acted in the past in general to minorities. This was almost 5 years ago, and we didn't know I was black at the time.

3. This one still bugs me. Two years ago, I found my biological father (left when my mom was prego). Turns out he's black. I grew up thinking I was Italian and Native American(Native American is true) because my mom wanted to protect me in my small farm town where there was only 3 black people out of about 5,000. This part, while troubling, I can understand. However, my wife made the comment "I wish I would have known you were black before we got married." We've been married for 2 1/2 years. I still don't know what she means, but it still bothers me. I might have to ask her about it.

4. My wife now does the hiring for aids at her place of employment. She hired a few "black girls from Detroit" as she put it (I think 4-5 in the last 6 months). Each one has been fired because of dress code, hygiene, bad work, or a mix of the 3. Now, she says she won't hire "one of them (black girls from Detroit) again because they're ghetto and bad workers. So, if they sound ghetto (Shanequa for example), she'll toss their resume aside. She always does a ghetto black girl voice when talking to me about their interviews. I don't know if this can be called racism or not. She's experienced enough of a similar background of people to not hire someone similar again. Also, she says it's usually because they either A. Call 5 times a day about an interview or B. Look like shit when they do come in (dirty, messy....)

After typing this, I'm actually really bothered about my wife. She always makes jokes about me being black (all in good fun; never hurtful or intended to be anyway), but I've realized a pattern. She said she was worried when we finally have kids because of the threat of "nappy hair." I'm only 1/2 black, and my hair is just really thick and doesn't have that coarse, wirery feel to it, so it's odd she would make that statement. I need to do some soul searching...

What do their actions have to do with affirmative action and hiring quotas. You came up with it now explain?

Glad you asked.

Affirmative action builds in the notion that minorities can't make it on their own. They give the illusion that minorities are inferior and therefore the only way they can be successful is to have the government step in and make things fair.

When minorities finally understand the racist policies that are suppose to be helping them are actually hurting them, then racism can slowly subside.

Ok I'll say it again what does that have to do with those actions. I know its hard for you to stay on task. But once again explain?

I don't know what you are not getting. AA and hiring quotas indoctrinate people to not respect minorities. When minorities want to free themselves from the oppressive(yet monetarily advantageous) policies, then people will start respecting minorities and racism can slowly subside.
