Which of these Lakers will be remembered as the better player?

I'll take Shaq any day of the week. Unstoppable talent.

Kobe is the better player. Shaq had pure size and power and just dominated. I don't think anyone will dominate like him again, but Kobe is the better player IMO.

I think Kobe will be remembered by Lakers fans as better player because he played his entire career in LA.

As for which player I'd take, give me Shaq. He just dominated like no player I've seen. Kobe was also a bit of a team killer in his younger days which factors into it.

Better Laker? Kobe.

Better player? Shaq.

Both top 10-20 players of all-time though.

Shaq was one of my fav players of all time. I still remember when he was at LSU putting up 40+ against the hoosiers in a loss in the NCAA tourny and I think he was like 12-12 from the line.

Unstoppable talent, no doubt about that.

but I would take Kobe. I would almost always take an elite guard over an elite center because the elite center needs someone to give him the ball. A guard can get his shot pretty much any time he wants. A center has a much smaller chance to make and create his own.

Shaq is the more fav player for me....but if I had to take one in his prime to win me a game, or start a team around, I would take the guard in Kobe

Shaq no question.

He's the better building block to win a championship because he was a dominating presence in the paint.

Kobe didn't win another title until the Lakers added another legit post player in Gasol.

As others said, Kobe will be remember as the best Laker between the two, but Shaq is the better player.

This is so stupid, I think 609 hacked into sleeper's account.
Remember when Dennis Rodman shut down Shaq, when with the Bulls in 1996?
I think Hakeen was better then Shaq and so was Kareem.

Who is more easily replaced? The big center.

I can't believe all of you would take shaq over kobe. No way.

Guards are a dime a dozen. You could have replaced Kobe with Eric Snow and the Lakers would have 3 peated.

An ELITE big man is much harder to find than an elite guard.

Lakers won 3 titles with Shaq... 0 without him until the Lakers got another legit big man.

Shaq went to Miami and helped DWade win... Miami hasn't won another since.

What's similar? Miami and LA both have elite guards, but haven't won without elite big men.

Yeah...there's a lot of good/great point guards in the NBA, but there's a big gap between the top big men and the average one. You have an elite big man and, as long as you put pieces around him, you'll be in great shape.

Shaq had 0 Titles until Kobe became Elite. Neither of them are as good without each other.

Kobe has the better skill set.

Shaq is easily more dominant physically.

Being a player is having the skill set and physical capabilities. I think I give a slight edge to Shaq. But these two each bring something very different to the table. I wouldn't mind having either to build a team around, but a slight preference for Shaq.

kobe....shaq was a great player but to me for his size and physical skills underachieved...stopped working out years ago or he would probably still be playing. jordan and kobe 1-2 in my book all time if you are talking basketball playing skills
