I would guess the O-lines would be pretty close to a push. Ben is the more mobile one however, so he can make up for his offensive line some of the time.

The 49ers have a very good defense so I didn't consider those 6 sacks as an indicator of how good/bad the NYG o-line was. I mean, the Steelers pulled Max Starks off a couch to protect Ben's blindside for several games this season. LOL

If you're saying it's a push...I'll take your word for it.

If going strictly by record how is 8-4 better than 10-3?

Ben is 10-4 in the postseason (New England, Jacksonville, Green Bay, Denver). Almost identical winning percentage with a slight edge to Eli. Toss-up IMO.

Their stats are pretty similar, except that Ben has more than doubled up Eli regarding INTs.

Ben also has 3 rushing TDs while Eli has none.

Yes...and that's why Eli's winning pct. in the postseason is a little better.

Ben usually proves that in the ladies room though.

I'm surprised that Eli has that many more. I think some of that comes from pitt's style early in Roethlisberger's career. He would sometimes only throw 14 times a game and they'd win because of their awesome defense and rushing attack. However that doesn't explain 30 more INTs.

I'd still take Eli. Roethlisberger's style leads to more injuries, think Eli is a better teammate and captain, think he has a better arm, and I think he is a better cerebral player.

#1. If it's that clear cut then why did someone start the thread in the first place? Are you going to call them out for starting the discussion/debate?

#2. Although I'm surprised by how rational some of the Browns fans are being...they're probably not the most objective bunch to be asking this question either. I admitted that there's some bias on my end.

I don't have any problem with people picking Eli...but I do think it's up for debate.

And if Vanderjagt doesn't miss the FG in the '05 AFC Championship game, Ben might have only one ring and we aren't having this discussion.

big difference between missing a 44 yard field goal to two fourth quarter fumbles and the giants were still 8-8 this year

If it wasn't for Big Ben making a game saving tackle on the Bettis fumble the steelers don't win either. Also the Giants were 9-7 this year.

Eli has more attempts, so naturally he's going to have more INT's.

Good point. It's like 700 more attempts. Ben throws about 1 pick for every 30 passes, that would add 25 more Int's to Ben total.
