Maybe the first or second round hit center mas but it is very likely that some of the rounds missed or was not fatal wounds.

I've seen at the range guy miss the stationary target from 15 feet and some even miss the 24x36 cardboard supporting the target

He stumbling backwards after 1 shot. At least 2 of the shots from the first officer were fired after he was down or falling down. All 5 from officer 2 were while he was on the ground. And an officer rarely misses from point blank range...at least 4 of those first 5 hit the perp.

As for the exotic animal case, I agreed with what they did 100%. Dangerous, wild animals on the prowl in America is not a good thing. Do what you have to do. But I'm curious, how does that relate to this discussion? It doesn't. I've already stated on here that I'm in favor of deadly force.....when the situation calls for it. This situation didn't (IMO) and certainly didn't require the excess force by the second officer.

And SEJ, I didn't call names (that was you and thinthickbigred), don't accuse me of that. I respect law enforcement in all aspects and come from a family with a deep tradition in law enforcement. It hasn't missed a generation in the last 5...and many generations have multiples. However, I want to see officers do the right thing and perform their jobs as they are trained. It's just my opinion, that in this instance, they did not.

You guys are getting caught up in sematics.

They had the justification for shooting this guy.

If there was only one shot fired directly to the brain pan, The end result is that he is dead.

The rest of the bullets were inconsequential.

Would you be happy if they charged them with gross abuse of a corpse?

I mean, let's be serious. A couple people here seem to think the proper way to handle things should have been for it to be a one-on-one bare-knuckle brawl with the winner taking all. Dude had a blunt object as a weapon and seemed whacked out. Maybe things could have wound up better, but I'd rather have the officer(s) err on the side of caution and blast the trash away instead of risking injury to themselves or others in the area.
