I can't see what the suspect is doing when they fire the second set of shots. If he was laying on the ground I would agree that was too much. But we can't tell from that video.

I agree there is some question as to the amount of shots, but I don't think this will end up being an issue.

And it doesn't matter that the guy he was advancing was not the one that shot first. People (especially cops) are allowed to use deadly force when another's life is at risk.

i get it but just because your allowed doesnt mean you should...people were making the point that maybe they wouldnt have time to get their gun out this and that but they had him lined up for the kill shot so i dont think you had to rush it which is why the guy he was going to swing at hadnt fired yet imo

What would you be doing after taking 5 shots to the chest from point blank range? I'm guessing he wasn't on the phone talking to his girlfriend or reaching in his backpack for a firearm.

why do you assume all "10" shots hit the suspect?

The way I see it is he was a threat period, the threat was taken care of! If he doesn't take the pipe, crowbar, etc....into the place and start smashing it up and turn to the cop after failing to listen to them he doesn't get shot or die. How can some of you defend him or slap the cops in the face. What if they didn't shoot him and he got off a shot with that pipe to someone's face or head and killed them? You would all be screaming why didn't they just shoot him and stop him, dah dah dah! Jesus what is the matter with you, if there is no criminal here there is no shooting, see the link?

All jokes aside . This was totally over excessive force period . Those cops wernt worth there salt . Again they had a dog . they had mace ,the perp was outside away from people WTF How can anybody with any compassion what so ever condone that killing . Rodney King got beaten down severly after going on a high speed chase and was high as a kite on PCP and it was on cameras . Those cops got punished like they did and riots ensued . They killed this guy and all they did was misfire on a taeser one time . They had multiple other choices and nobody deserves to die because they smash a store up with a crowbar . Ill tell you one thing I am for . How about when someone is convicted of something like the perp did ,they get flogged or whipped .
