In general lawyers are not high in the evolution scale in my opinion. Based from my personal and business affiliation with lawyers, theirs and mine. Plus the fact that I called out a lawyer friend on the counting of strokes and with addition evaluation of his score card was declared cheating. Note: We are not friends anymore.

Last Friday I was in an accident. A car slide into the back of my 2007 Metallic Black truck that I refer to as MO ..... I just enjoy riding her. The accident bent my bumper, his fault, police report taken, I suggested no citation because of road condition, office agreed, information given, insurance claim already in progress, no injury, insurance will cover the damage and I get a new bumper. Estimated $1600.00 damage appraised done.

It started on Monday the phone calls from lawyers wanting to know my physical condition, not one or two but a total of five phone calls. Today I go to my mail box and what is packed into the box but large envelops from six legal firms in the area, with CD, magnets, four color catalogs, custom stationary all wanting me to contact them … for the reason of what? To make a nice guy who accidently slide into my truck on a snow and icy road at a stop sign pay big time for nothing…. So the lawyer can take a greedy 1/3 and destroy a guys financial credit and family prosperity

Lawyers should have to register as legal predators…. and force to wear pink sport coats

I’m thinking of suing each of them for six figures and hire each one to sue the other for invasion of my personal property and privacy ….

Has this lawyer vulturism ever happen to you? </SPAN>

Yeah its happened to me. I usually sue, just to be a punk. I don't need the money.

Ambulance chasers are terrible, I agree, but to generalize lawyers as ambulance chasers is extremely ignorant.

And yes, I've been affected by that vulturism when I was in a car accident as well.

It's called marketing baby. Personal injury lawyers drum up most of their business this way. If they relied on word of mouth only, they would hardly get any business, particular in these minor auto accidents that have very minimal value. The guys at the mill lawfirms work on volume.

Lawyers suck, but not as bad as insurance companies. I was in an accident a few weeks back, and dealing with the other driver's lawyers and insurance company made me hate those guys even more.

2 years ago while on vacation in Mexico my drunk ass got atop of a mechanical bull at the resort. Thank god it was the last night of the trip. When I got tossed off the thing I landed elbow point to the ribs and I was in trouble. Fastforward back to the states and in the hospital the next day. After treatment a few weeks later I get a letter from some law firm representating Aetna inquiring to what happened and they want to take legal action. I just threw it away, but they kept coming. So finally I responded on one of the info forms that it occurred in Mexico, I signed a waiver, I had been drinking, it was my own damn fault and I am not suing anyone. That was the last I heard about it.

Now when it comes to insurance I can tell that most I mean most people do not understand their coverage and think they are covered for anything that happens! Now can insurance companies be dicks, certainly, but I have taken enough claims from people to know they honestly have no clue how their insurance really works!

sounds like you have a case..if you were drunk you may have been too impaired to understand what you were signing...just saying

That is a good point, contract null and void! :) Nah I knew what I was doing and it was a total fluke. They had padding set up etc...I knew when I was being thrown off and I posted my arms to catch myself and just landed completely wrong. I do have to say though it totally sucked ass for about 2 months after that!

That's fascinating. When dealing with USAA, it seemed to me that they were being "reasonably unreasonable"--e.g., skimming about $500 off my claim, which is presumably a sum that's too small to fight over. They were really a bunch of jerks about the whole thing, even though I was pretty fair and reasonable.

$500 bucks here, $500 bucks there.... when you consider these insurers handle millions of claims over a year it adds up to a boat load of money-- particularly for the big dogs like State Farm, Allstate, Nationwide, etc.

Yes, that's what I figured when I was talking to them. There appeared to be a very deliberate unwillingness to fairly value my vehicle (which their insured totaled). They said I could take it or go to court if I wanted. But they must realize that very few people will go to court over a few hundred bucks, so it's a safe way to skim. Annoying as hell.

Lol I love that you say lawyers suck. The few I know (as well as a few law students) are all good people. That said, I've never had to deal with one regarding a business matter, etc.

dealing with them personally and professionally are completely different. Some are nice people outside of work but pitbulls when it comes to doing their job
