They're saying Carwin's only had short fights (all ending 1st round), and the energy he used in the 1st could hurt him

To withstand what Carwin threw at him is impressive.

Carwin obviously didn't have the stamina... this is the first fight he has had that has gone more than 1 round, he wore himself out in the 1st whaling on Lesnar.

I thought the ref was going to stop that in the 1st but bery impressive for Brock to withstand that and come back with a very solid choke

Just to start some conversation... does anyone think that the ref should have called it off in the first? Was the fix in?

It was a close call on stoppage. I don't think there was a ton of damage done once Lesnar covered up. However Lesnar wasn't fighting back. No fix though!

was wondering the same thing and honestly if I was not rooting for Lesnar I would have been screaming for the stoppage.

Lesnar was defending himself, and his strategy was to let Carwin gas himself out which is what happened. I just can't believe Lesnar won by SUBMISSION!!!!! Lesnar's chin has now been tested and his gameplan was solid. I'm still jacked form that fight.

I don't think the fight was fixed some people in the UFC just get more respect from the refs then others. Title fights are also usually given more slack as to when to stop it. That said if they would have stopped it with brock just covering up I wouldnt have been to mad. I think the offical might have been telling him he had to fight back when brock kept reaching up every few punches. I want to see Brock fight Cain while Carwin beats someone like Rothwell or the winner of the roy nelson fight. Then a rematch. I also have to say that Brock has improved so much did anyone think he would ever tap someone out with a submission.

The whole card was action packed and one of the best pay per views in awhile IMO. I'm not even sure who should get submission, KO, or Fight of the night. Lesnar vs Carwin, Stephen Bonnar and Chris Lebans fights were all awesome.

I would agree that he was still defending himself so let it go... I just wanted to see how everyone felt.

This is how I think the "awards" will be handed out:

Submission: Lesnar/Lytle
Fight of the night: Leben/Akiyama
KO of the night: Harris (via slam)
