Dana needs to make Silva vs GSP happen already (even tho I totally understand from a business standpoint it makes little sense).

Most of Silva's walk around weight is fat. The guy is not ripped at 185. He never looks dehydrated at weigh ins like some guys do.sportchampps;1257347 wrote:i cant believe that silva can get to 178 thats crazy

I've heard he walks around at 235 though. While he may be walking around fat he still losing 50lbs to make 185.

Dana asked him on one of his video blogs how much he was weighing and he said about 220 lbs, but I think he gave the kilo equivalent. Crazy, because Jones says he only walks around at about 225. Like said above though, Jones doesn't have any fat while Silva probably does.sportchampps;1258144 wrote:I've heard he walks around at 235 though. Frankie Edgar is now fighting Jose Aldo next month. Does anyone think Frankie can pull it off?

My picks. I like Boetsch, but I don't think he has a chance at beating Anderson and I'd rather see Weidman get the shot. With that said, i think Boetsch could win the fight and throw a wrench in the title picture.The_Crosby_Show;1264213 wrote:Couple of fight announcements:

Not a Lombard fan, only fight I've seen of his was the Boetsch fight.

Aldo and Rampage are out of 153.
Big Nog and Dave Herman replace the co-main and wait for it.....
Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar is now the ME.

Bonnar is very hard to finish and is crazy so while I only give him a <1% chance to win. I give it an 80% chance to be a really exciting fight.

Anderson seems to have magic in his punches though, and everyone he clips seems to be instantly rocked even when it doesn't look like they were hit hard.
I think Bonner gets taken out via TKO in round 1.

This is getting a little ridiculous. The two best fighters in the world are fighting two guys completely unworthy of them because the UFC needs to put on a PPV card. I understand business is business, but Jones-Belfort was bad enough, then Bonnar-Silva is really a joke.
Hopefully this causes the UFC to reexamine how they're putting on cards. When it's all said and done, the UFC will have had 31 cards this year(13 PPV's.) I think scaling it back, even to just 25 cards and 10 PPV's, would solve this problem.

Fighters train harder and injuries happen. I don't think it's the UFC's fault as much as it is there is so much on the line for these fighters that fighting hurt doesn't make sense for them. A loss hurts a hell of a lot more than a win helps...if that makes sense.2kool4skool;1269712 wrote:This is getting a little ridiculous. Silva opens as a 13-1 favorite over Bonner. I know Bonner lasted 3 rounds vs. Bones, but Bones was only 22, and it was on a year and half after his first fight. Silva will toy with him and make him look stupid.
If the UFC is just going throw up their arms and make fights just for fun, I would have rather seen Silva fight Herman, and Big Nog fight Bonner. It would be at least interesting to see Anderson fight a smaller heavyweight, and big Nog wouldn't have much size on Bonner if he didn't cut weight.
