I have been watching MMA since UFC 1 back in the early 90s, and I have never seen anyone so good at one move that no one can stop it...like Rousey is.
When you are that good at a single move that NO ONE can stop it, that is crazy. I mean you know that Kaufman spent the whole camp on arm bar defense and still get caught in it inside of 1 minute is just crazy.

So I take it Sonnen is permanently relocating to 205? I guess Bones said that Chael was a joke or something to that extent when talking about who he would fight if he beats Hendo.

If you don't respect the fuck out of Chael Sonnen, you might as well just stop watching MMA. Yeah, he trolls to draw more viewers(and make everyone involved more money) but he has bigger balls than any athlete in the world right now. Accepts a fight with the champ in the weight class above him on 7 days notice? Who does that?

Even I, as a JJ fan, have a very sour taste in my mouth about this. Greg Jackson might be the smartest coach alive strategy wise (and sometimes that is boring), but he really made a big mistake telling JJ to not take this.
I haven't got a chance to listen to it, but the phone conference with DW today was a huge bitch fest about how Greg Jackson is ruining the sport (and I can't say I disagree).
Edit: I do say, a good part of this is the UFC/DW's fault. The cards in the past were never so weak that the loss of the main event cancelled the card. Recently cards have been so watered down that something like this was bound to happen.

Yeah. They just run so many cards now between their monthly PPVs and all the televised ones that it seems the entire undercard is loaded with TUF also-rans and guys I've never heard of and only (on average) 2/5 of the main card fights look particularly interesting. It's just rare to have a legit good card based on star power and most of the time, all you can hope for are exciting fights with lesser names looking to make a name for themselves.jmog;1253071 wrote:Edit: I do say, a good part of this is the UFC/DW's fault. http://espn.go.com/mma/story/_/id/8296483/ufc-151-canceled-due-dan-henderson-injuryNaming Machida as the next opponent for Jones hasn't put UFC's current problem to rest. As of 3:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Machida had not been informed that he was being added to the Sept. 22 card. And Machida's manager, Ed Soares, told ESPN.com that he can't say for certain his fighter will accept the bout on short notice."Lyoto doesn't even know about (the title shot) yet," Soares said. "He's on the road to his family's farm (in Brazil), and I haven't been able to reach him all morning. I spoke to his brother, and (Lyoto is) on the highway and he has no cellphone reception.
"I'm excited about the title shot, but will be more excited when I have an answer from Lyoto. I have to speak to Lyoto first. It's a weird situation. I've never been in this situation before, just like the UFC has never been in this situation before. It's crazy.
"(The fight is) three weeks away, four weeks away. I still have to clear this with Lyoto."

I kinda think Henderson and Sonnen knew last week that Henderson wasnt going to be able to fight. This is why last week Sonnen announced he was moving up to LHW and started talking trash about JJ. His camp and Dana said Henderson tried to keep training but just couldnt do it. Since they are in the same camp Sonnen saw a chance to get a shot at a champiuonship belt and another big pay day. If this is true then I don't blame JJ for turning down the fight. They shoulda told Dana and JJ to come up with a backup plan right when the injury occured. Now this is all speculation it just seems all to convient that Sonnen announced his move up right before someone in his camp got injured and moved outta the title fight on short notice. Also did the UFC offer anyone else to fight Jon Jones on 8 day notice or just Sonnen.
I also think Jon Jones Shoulda just took the fight and beat Sonnens ass whichi think he could easily do.

Dana said they offered several other people the fight and no one would take it but Chael.
Jones is a massive fucking pussy. Won't fight a smaller guy who only had 8 days notice.

Lol.
This kid is just displays disingeniuty at every opportunity.
1) He never turns down fights--but he will if he thinks it's not in his favor.
2) He wants to be a role model--but drinking and driving is okay.
3) He's a company man and never says no--screws over an entire card by saying no.
4) He says he fights for money--but turns down a PPV draw because the fight's not favorable (see 1).
5) He wants to be a legend of the sport--but alienates his peers and fans by pulling out in the most recent fashion.
