Fly4Fun;1046474 wrote:What exactly did Bama do that meant they earned it? Their best OOC win was against mediocre PSU team. They lost their most important conference game and didn't make their conference championship game.
Lets look at Bama's best wins
PSU (mediocre Big 10 team)
Arkansas - Pretty good victory, I'll give them that... Arkansas helped to solidify this by beating KSU.
Auburn - a 5 loss team, not really that impressive.
Florida - a mediocre team at best (6 L's on the year).
It's not like Alabama had some amazing resume. At least Oklahoma State got to and won their conference championship game. I'm still of the opinion in the current system that if you don't win your conference championship, you can't play for (and have a chance for a national championship). The conference season is like pool play... if you aren't the best in your pool, you shouldn't "advance" to the title game.
If there were a playoff however, it would be more reasonable to miss out on conference, but make the tournament for a chance at the national title.
They were the best team in the country. You would have seen that tonight if you weren't playing Suzie Homemaker.

The only thing we saw tonight was a mediocre game (at least I spent most of the first half at the gym since it is morning here).karen lotz;1046478 wrote:They were the best team in the country. You would have seen that tonight if you weren't playing Suzie Homemaker.
I give Alabama credit, they deserve the national championship, but it was a #&%^$ game.

Might have been a mediocre game excitement wise, but it was about as dominating as a game can get.

Not difficult to dominate against an inept offense, why didn't Miles put in Lee? It may be debatable if this was the worst team performance in a BCS c'ship game, but it certainly was the worst coaching.

Some things that I dont know if they been talked about, but...
Les Miles usually costs his team at least one game a year
LSU should of used Lee alot since Bama prepared for the run and the option. When Bama played LSU the first time they prepared for Lee, and when JJ came in they got 8 yards a play on the option. But, with 44 days to prepare, they might of prepared for the whole scenario. Who knows. Saban can coach.
The LSU defense didnt play bad, its just they were on the field the whole game. Cant blame them for giving up 21 points when they played that much and got tired. Its all on Miles and the offense.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Lots of teams get shut out in the title game.

You are just using the wrong word. You are trying to use the bastard contraction "should've" but that doesn't even exist. Double fail?

Classy of him to blame the loss on the officials and then throw his coach under the bus.
