I know it is 8 months and some odd days away, but might as well get the thread started.
From everything I have heard and knowing what we have coming back, the 2012 version of the Northwest Indians should be really fun to watch.
Our o-line should have some really good size again, and hopefully that means we see a good BALANCE of run and pass. Should average around 250, even if the kids don't gain any weight in the off-season. With the usual Whiting Conditioning, you might see that closer to 260-265.
TD Culp will be taking over at QB, which I think will be an improvement over Riley due to his pure athleticism and ability to run when needed. For those that don't know anything about Culp, think similar to Jones but a smarter football mentality. Meaning I don't think you will see a 4th and 60 with him. From what I saw in his freshman year two years ago he seemed to be very balanced in his skill-set, which should be great for the Indians.
At RB, I think we will see a good mix of Kyle Harris and Tristan Mullane, both of which I see having big seasons. Even more so, I hope they give the ball to Tyler Bowman more this year. That kid can just plain run over people. With the right conditioning, he could be a stud. I would be very happy seeing an even amount of carries by all three of these guys.
Anyone know much about the young receivers coming up? I am sure they will use both Harris and Mullane at WR as well.
The team should have good overall speed, but will struggle again with height at all positions.
Other's thoughts?
Will the schedule remain the same? If someone knows it, please post with Home/Away marked.

The defense front will be back. LB will be strong only unknown will be the secondary. Big shoes to fill there. Many kids are in the weightroom right now. The size and weight will be there for both the O and D lines.

We will see about the running game, coach said last year we were gonna use the I formation as the base offense, and we all know how that turned out. Beers had 1000 yards in that offense, kid was a stud, pretty much wasted him for 2 years. With most of the o-line bein 3 year starters, I would hope we run the ball. 7 starters are gone on defense, we need some young guys to step up. When your team runs the 5 wide, it makes it tough on your defense, exstends the game, other team gets more chances(Poland).

An improvement over Riley? Really? He must be pretty damn good then because I thought Riley was outstanding.

riley and culp are two completely different qbs that bring different skill sets to the game.... culp is def more of a runner and athlete, but has a good arm riley way more of a passer and accurate at this point

.
Andrew Colon started in the 5 wide as a sophomore, had about 20 catches. Quick with great hands.
I look for guys like Johnny Masters, Justin Smith, Sean Green, and David Casslinova to step up. The JV team had about 12 different kids play WR and all of them have something unique about them but look for those guys I name to make a case for themselves. My question about the 2012 indians will be the defensive scheme? Are we sticking with the 3-3 stack or going back to the 4-3?

I would really like to see Indian Creek and Canal Fulton start a series... Both are D3 R11 and the winner would get pretty good points. In 2009 CF beat a Buckeye Local team in the playoffs that lost to Creek. I was at that game and Creek would have had a much better game than Buckeye did. This is a match up that needs to happen in the near future...

O-Line = Lost 1 starter (McDonnell), 4 starters back (West, Wellman, Cox, Grogan)
QB/RB = Lost 2 starters (Riley, Beers), Culp in for Riley
WR = Lost 3 starters (Pawlyk, May, Beers), 2 starters back (Colon, Harris)
D-line = Lost 1 starter (McDonnell), 2 back (Bowman, Schley)
LB/DB = Lost 5 starters (Beers, Pawlyk, Pribonic, Tesch, Stirlecki) 3 back (Pawlyk, Mulane,soph/jrs with time)
Might see a mixed set. Culp has the legs, but in order to keep the opposition off their game, many different looks are needed.
The defense will be tested, but with having a solid front 7 will pay off.
Only uncertainity is week 6. Not sure who we will be playing, but whoever the team is will face a very solid Whiting team.

Lost Reed he was a starter at LB. Shultz will have a big year on defense. Culp will be fine, hopefully have a RB back there with him. Need some skilled guys to step up, we lose over a 100 catches and around 2,400 yards of offense with Beers and J.C. Pawlyk

Lockup - WV team filled their open, from what I heard.
Great news though for Ronnie Beers and J.C. Pawlyk, both will be continuing their carrers at Malone next season! Great job guys.
Still looking for many good things for the 2012 team. West, Schley and the rest of the non winter sport boys have been in the weight room.
Some of them will be heading to Massillon for the Nike combine in March. Just wish July 16th was here sooner. Can't wait to head into their Sr. year.

Touchdown Club draw down is their annual fundraiser for the season. The TD Club does alot of work behind the scenes to help the football program. Usually tickets are $50 and $10 for an additional dinner. Make your own steak, salad, bread, potatoes and drinks are included. Chance to win some money, have a nice dinner and enjoy the time with the Northwest football community.

So, I posted this on the other site, but who would be included on Northwests All-Time Team? If we had a Football HOF would be on that, coaches, supporters, players, etc. Just wondering since Tuslaw, Perry, Massillon all have theirs. This may lead to something in the near future.
