This is a fairly prestigious New Year's Day Bowl and there is a 6-6 team playing in the game. I'm just curious.....do you guys think that a 6-6 team deserves to play in the Gator Bowl?

If it was ND, we'd never hear the end of the pissing, moaning, and insults. If it was OSU, we'd never hear the end of how their program prestige is a natural fit for a big game. If Bowden was coming back, this wouldn't even be happening.

That is about as correct as it can get.

Bowden wanted to play in Florida and had to do some dealing with the other teams who were more deserving. Apparently they let him have his way

No way they should be in the Gator Bowl. I'll be there (for WVU) but I am really not anticipating that great of a game.

I don't think any team with a 6-6 record should be in a bowl. I think you should need a winning record of at least 7-5.

I agree and add that all wins must come against 1-A teams.

I agree, but the problem is that you have too many bowls where you have to put teams in. You are forced to take teams that go 6-6 in most seasons.

Yes, but FSU should not be playing in a NYD bowl game.

I think it will be closer than you think... but the only reason they are in this bowl is because of their confrence affiliations correct? Doesn't the gator bowl get the 3rd place ACC team? I thought that was how they got there.

If there were FSU fans on here you would hear pissing and moaning, but there are not so nobody really cares. I feel bead for the teams that went 8-4 and finished multiple spots ahead of FSU in the conference standings. I do not blame FSU though. I blame the ACC for allowing the Gator Bowl to take them.

The ACC decided it would be good to bypass rules and put FSU in the game. Which screwed us over hardcore, and instead of playing in the Gator or Champs in florida, we are playing and damn Nashville, TN against Kentucky. After making the championship game. I am a bit pissed at this.

The only positive is that Spiller needs 350 yards to become the NCAA's all-time yardage leader, and he actually might have a chance healthy in this game.

There exists a single digit percentage of Ohio State fans on this board who would subscribe to this notion. The vast majority of whom would do so simply to get under your skin and the result would be posts like this. Stop embarassing yourself with generalized, broad strokes of the brush. Were it ND or Ohio State in the same boat here it would be about the money, or the money, and, well possibly the money that those institutions would bring. Period. There is no difference between the two.

Bowden wanted to coach his last game in Florida and they've granted him his wish. They don't belong there and everyone knows it.

Sorry, after years on huddle and seeing many of the same people on this board it's more than single digit.

No...no it's not. Just because the same trolls post a gangload of BS doesn't mean the % is higher.

3 or 4 posters does not double digits make. There is a huge number of fans...huge. Most don't say a word.

Sorry, that's a fact.

I don't paint fan bases generally, you however find that to be acceptable.

Yea, most would not say a word, true. The ones who would, the vocal "minority" of your fans would never let it go. That was my original point which more than one person agreed with.

That's the problem with the old and now this board. So many are so quick to respond in kind to stupid threads, moronic posts and flamers in general. When in reality, ignoring them produces the desired effect of them being minimized. It's hard, I know. Hell I had to respond to your over simplification of Ohio State fans, lol.

Point is, you know the posters who require your designation, and the majority of us aren't them.

just like ACC decided to by pass the rules last year and take a 7-5 Clemson team over a 9-3 Florida State team?

Within two wins in conference is the rule. So yes, exactly like that. I didn't agree with it last year either. Thought we should have been in the Champs bowl

The ACC drops the ball on stuff like this (and many others) on a very common basis.
