The browns playcalling is predictable. Today it was throw on first, run on second. If we can figure it out, d coordinators can!

he had like 2 carries in the 2nd half. And when you have no threat at QB, defenses can key on the run. Also, fuck Pat Shurmur.

[h=3]Potential changes in Cleveland[/h]7:57AM ET
[h=5]Cleveland Browns[/h]

There have been rumors regarding the possible firing of Cleveland Browns GM Tom Heckert and HC Pat Shurmur since before Jimmy Haslam bought the club; the thinking was that Haslam was going to bring in a whole new group, a process that started with the ouster of team president Mike Holmgren, who was replaced by Joe Banner. As the season has gone along, there's been much speculation regarding Heckert and Shurmur, and that has ramped up significantly as the end of the season fast approaches.
Sunday's lopsided loss -- to a team with a backup QB -- may have been the final tipping point.
Todd Jones of the Columbus Dispatch writes that Sunday's game was a microcosm of the Browns' 2012 campaign -- despite some encouraging moments, the tail end resembled the darkening skies that beset the stadium. With the loss on Sunday, the Browns clinched finishing with a losing record for the fifth consecutive season.
As for who comes on next, a very intriguing scenario was presented last week: the Browns would bring in NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi as GM, with University of Alabama HC Nick Saban returning to Cleveland as the replacement for Shurmur. Both men worked for Cleveland during the previous iteration of the team (Lombardi from 1987 to 1996, Saban from 1991 to 1994).

Watching that 49er's and Patriots game last night just shows how far away we are offensively.

In a driving rain storm those teams are still throwing vertically down the field, while on a nearly 60 degree day in Cleveland we are content under Shurmur to have the equivalent of a horizontal passing game where the ball never goes more than a yard or 2 upfield at a time before guys are expected to shed 10 tackles and create yards for themselves.

I just wonder sometimes how our coaching staff can watch other teams play and not begin to wonder why they aren't trying to do the same things.

On the OBR someone has been talking about Shurmur actually being a Heckert idea as much or more than a Holmgren idea given their time together in Philly. This needs to be looked into by Joe Banner as if true that is a firable offense for Heckert as it shows just terribly poor judgment.

Hiring Shurmur set the franchise back years and cost alot of people their jobs. Whoever was responsible for it needs to be held to account if they haven't already been.

That has gone over like a led balloon to most everyone in the city so far.

If Banner does it anyway it does not portend well of things to come in the Haslam/Banner regime because it has that same tone deaf quality about it we have dealt with so much during the Holmgren regime.

You don't let fans/media necessarily dictate what you do, but bringing in a guy like Lombardi that effectively is a wet blanket that no one wants around is an adversarial decision that just doesn't need to be made.

There are enough people to hire that won't be met with scorn like Lombardi would that Joe Banner can go hire.

I don't give a shit what the Cleveland media makes the fans want. Haslam has shown so far he cares about football, winning, and doing it now. Lets sit back and let him put his pieces in place. If I just spent a billion dollars on something, I'm not giving two shits about a city responsible for putting Barack Obama in the White House.

I think he's pointing to the black community as being responsible for Obama winning the election. What that has to do with the price of rice in China? I have no idea....

Cleveland fan on the radio = doesn't want Lombardi, so ownership shouldn't get Lombardi?

These are the same people that elected and re-elected Obama. He has carried Cuyahoga County by a larger margin than that of the state.

In other words, its obvious Cleveland is full of fucktards and their opinion shouldn't be leaned on by a guy who just spent a Billion dollars on the team.
