Glad Shurmur simply said the obvious and named Weeden. Colt has to understand he can have a long NFL career as a backup if he plays this smart and stays ready.

Colt is not the first QB (or person) to be demoted and think he didn't get a fair shot. Life doesn't always seem fair...talk to all those who have been laid off the last 5 years.

We all should be demoted and paid 550K.

I sill remember my dad being laid off after 30 years in the grocery biz in the 1970s economic slump. He went from a supervisor to out the door.

And that really wasn't fair to him or the others laid off with him.

And bottom line: Weeden is far more talented and the Indians must see what he can do with the 1st team.

Colt also should know that only once in 1999 has a Browns QB played all 16 games (Couch, 2001).
