Pro's to keeping McCoy are that he's had starting experience, he's younger and he's cheaper.
Con's to keeping McCoy are that he's never been a backup (will this set well with him?), his dumbass meddling family and the "backup QB is always the most popular player in Cleveland" syndrome.
Pro's to keeping Wallace are that he knows the system like the back of his hand, his familiarity with Holmgren and the fact that there's not a whole bunch of difference between him and McCoy (skill-wise)
Con's to keeping Wallace are his age, his salary and the fact that he was all about "me" instead of "team" last year.
I had called in to Tucker and was just about to get on the air when the Browns fan who called in right before me kind of stole my thunder with his thoughts.
What are the thoughts from OC Browns fans on this?
I personally think Wallace is a piece of **** but I think that McCoy needs a new start somewhere else. I don't necessarily think that McCoy will be a public whiner but I do think his family will. Plus I think that having McCoy with the team could divide the locker room (half want McCoy as the starter, half want Weeden). Weeden starts having "growing pains", which he likely will as most rookies do, and the McCoy chants will start.
I am not a fan of either one of them, so if you can get a draft pick in a trade for McCoy, I would trade him. If you can't get anything for either one, I would keep McCoy and release Wallace. I would try to pick up a QB in the late rounds next year to groom as a backup for the next several years.
